WDRB41 News in Louisville put out this report at 2:21 p.m. EST today.

"REPORTS: Tornado damage in Fern Creek area"

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The tornado warnings in the WDRB coverage area have now expired, but not [only] after several reports of a touchdown in the Fern Creek area.

An off-duty police officer reported a tornado touchdown at Cedar Creek Road and Mount Washington Road. That report has not been confirmed.

A WDRB photographer captured a picture, seen at the right [see link], of damage on Brook Chase Road, east of Cooper Chapel Road. You can see the home is severely damaged and has been roped off.

The system says six schools, although they were not damaged, are without power: Moore, Smyrna, Bates, Carrithers, Wilt, and Laukhauf.

We have news crews on the way to the Fern Creek area. Stay with WDRB.com and WDRB news on television for the latest information.

Here is a link to two graphics prepared by NOAA's National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office that show the tracks of ALL tornadoes that have hit the Louisville, KY area in the past since such data has been recorded.

The tornado track data plotted on these graphics dates back to the year 1830.

The same storm cell that caused the tornado in Fern Creek about an hour ago has just now (3:40 p.m. EST) prompted a new tornado warning in Trimble County and areas immediately southwest of Carrollton, KY.

People in both Trimble county and Carroll county (in areas that are west and southwest of Carrollton) are being advised to take cover now.

Have the TPTB encouraged another "landcane" (land based hurricane) to develop over the U.S.?

Thread: does anyone else think this NOAA animation is odd?

Did this human-enhanced weather "system" just cause a tornado with significant damage in the Louisville, KY area?

In the hours ahead what else is in store for us from this landcane weather "system"?

Crap, we used to live in Fern Creek! Our kids went to Smyrna elementary.

Btw, there was a thread on GLP a couple of days ago that showed how a loop of the jet stream was cut off from the main airflow and created the weather pattern we are seeing now. I highly doubt that it was human-created.

Here's a link to the animation of the jet stream, showing how the loop formed:

You have to put in March 20th, and set it for 3 or 4 days to see the full effect.

Here's the GLP thread about it:
