.2 lightdays = 3,218,953,382 miles

[link to www.convertaz.com]

I realize in astronomical terms this is small, but in realistic danger, this isn't very worrysome.
 Quoting: Amoody1

Dude wtf .... LD means Lunar Distance no light days ... Sighh
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13236971

It is so, dude. Moreover, there is gravity, there is earth atmosphere, or God knows what kinds of fields and belts around the Earth that could "catch" the incoming object. Sun eruption may change something. You are never sure in these things. Especially when people are constantly forewarned by old and new prophecies (Nostradamus one of them) that we're gonna be hit. 0.6 LD is too close, closer than some satellites orbits if remember correctly.
Where did Nibiru theory go? Will Nibiru come alone, if it is Jupiter-size? Is Jupiter traveling alone in space? Check Wiki.

Hi Cassie, thanks for the neat thread. I saw lots of meteors a couple nights ago when I found myself lost in the woods (wasn't lost after all, but at that point I thought I was) overnight. I was thinking to myself how interesting it was to see so many, as I wasn't aware of any meteor showers coming. My observation point was down-east Maine (aka the eastern corner, 100 miles inland).

PS, still love your avatar hf it always makes me smile when I see it, and sometimes I just click on your threads just to see it even after all these years :)

hi

Hey Dexter, so the weather in Maine was so nice you had to go get lost in the woods. ;-)

Nice you could still enjoy the sky show. I'd freak out if I thought I was lost and miss everything.

Thanks for gracing my thread, and nice to see you. Its easy to miss people and threads these days, the forum has really grown since way back when.

Word has it that South America has had 2 hits, but thats not something TPTB want us to know, i guess.

Of course, they were small, or we would know about it.

Maybe this is the one that hits????? (SH doesnt matter, but the Northern Hemisphere would be news all over the place.

Yes, lots of NEOs. 2012 FS35 is already down to condition code 5 after just a day of observations [link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov] and will be making it's 40,026 mile pass in around 2 hours.
