The area in question IS where Atlantis was, but the toys there should be left alone. the technology being employed served multi functions, does generate serious waves that i can only call trans-psionic waves (sorry English is very limited, but lets call them all penetrating mindwaves). The Trans part is because this reality isnt the only one affected. The device was like a beacon to lower demensional entities that live for a long long time (their source rotation is infinately slower than ours). The device drew them here, and couldn't be disabled. And this was by beings that KNEW the technology. Their only option was destroy everything, and even that failed. The failure, however did cause some disintegration of the matter below the device, and thus Atlantis sank.

I know humans won't leave it alone though, they want to see what it can do...but the real TPTB won't allow it. Don't expect Earth to help either, once bitten twice shy, Earth herself will guard the secret.
