i am a 34 year old female prepper my sister and i have been trying to prep for years but with how fast the cost of everything is going up, we are dragging her soon to be husband along reluctantly we bought over a year ago a cheap house in rural kansas got the house for 30k several houses in the area
are selling for 12 - 30 k everyone wants to live in the cities i guess yay for them! our first priority was bug out bags i have an imi galil and jess a remmington 700 both have been heavily accessorized walter being the reluctant prepper only has a rugar 10/22 once our bug out bags where together ttown we focused on our garden we are lucky our neighbor is a prepper and has an irrigation well which he allows us to use freely
we are still working on remodeling this house to be more safe and modernizing it as well as going more green we installed a fire place 2 wood parlor stoves as well as a really nice wood cook stove/oven in the kitchen so this being our second year here our priorities are to get more solar panels as well as prefect our canning techniques and add bees to our collection of animals we are raising
now we are raising chickens both meat and egg goats and rabbits goats for wool and milk mostly milk at this point and rabbits for meat we are also trying to get at least a 5 year supply of toilet paper and soap this year we are learning candle making soap making as well as gardening the big thing we had to well wake up too is the learning curve associated with all these simple tasks in the old days u would go through that curve growing up our garden last year didnt fair too well
we got some food but not nearly what we where expecting now we know better and this year we are doing it a bit different next year should be even better etc lotions we have stocked up on coco butter and some beauty items cause face it our best survival skill as women in these times our are ability to look good and possibly not be shot do to that fact but being armed is extremely important so that u can defend yourself from rapists etc

see my sister and i are convinced that the standard of living at best will return to a 1920s level at worst a pre industrial level so we are basing our preps on that
so we are working more on skills to make cosmetics then to hoard them some items that dont grow here like coco butter we have stocked up on but eye shadows lipsticks eyeliner and hygene products we have and are learning to make ourselves its actually alot of fun making your own colors and powders it takes it to a whole new level but most of our preps are based on gardening now as far as that time of the month there is a reason it was called being on the rag thats how people dealth with it untill the 1960s

I got mine a cute little camo g-string and some fish net stockings. Both can be dual purposed, one as a sling shot and the other as a fish trap.

Of course we'll needs pics to better evalutate the functionality of her undergarments.

That's just your lifetime of conditioning. In a true shit-meets-fan situation, there are no such luxuries. You are going to stink, your skin will NEED toughening, and your ass is going to get a LOT hairier.

I think tampons would be potentially dangerous. If you get stuck too long without enough fresh tampons, you could go into toxic shock. Then what?

It's safer to learn to do without any store-bought items. Get a sanitary belt and go back to the old way, maybe. Not fun, but at least gets the job done.

We have to remember, always, that all the things we think we can't live without, are relatively NEW inventions.

Even electricity has only been around for one century, out of our entire existence.

We can DO this.

OK, except childbirth. That sucks WAY too much to go back to biting a stick. But everything else, we're good.

The only make up you should be concerned with is camoflauge make up in event you have to hide from whatever. I cannot believe - I repeat...... CANNOT BELIEVE some of you women are actually concerned with your "APPERANCE" when SHTF. I promise you when SHTF -- NO ONE is gonna give two shits about what you look like, all they are gonna care about is are you "friend or foe"..... plain and simple.

Sure -- having those items for barter and trade is awesome but what happens when the supply dwindles or there's no more to go around? It's time to think of other methods, other ways to live in a post SHTF world. Learn other "primitive" methods of personal hygiene while you can NOW instead of being reliant on commerical "things". Learn all you can -- soak up knowledge NOW as opposed to trying to scramble and figure out stuff "post SHTF".

I will be far more worried about gathering food, supplies, water and making a shelter than worrying about how "pretty" I look in a SHTF.

Sorry for being so blunt but that is a perspective coming from a WOMAN in GI JANE MODE ready for a SHTF scenario. :)
