Not surprised the Fields Ertel OH store is closing. It's the worst store in the Cincinnati area. I'm glad the rest ate staying open there. All great stores.

Best Buy hasn't been a best buy in ten years. You can buy the same thing at walmart for at least five bucks cheaper.

No, that won't happen... They will simply move unsold product back to their distribution centers and eventually try and move that product at other locations that are staying open.

Should only be a year or two now before Best Buy goes out of business completely.... Their business model is unsustainable.

You have zero empathy though for the thousands of employees that lost their jobs. Flooding the workforce with more unemployed.

How many of those employees had families? Can you imagine how many Summer vacations have been canceled and kids will go without new clothes. The parents will be desperate to find work before school starts again

I was in there a couple weeks ago ready to spend $2500 on a new 3D LED TV and stood there for 30 mins waiting for some help and not one of those fucks came. They stood there bullshittin. I found the manager and bitched and left. Wont go back either

I was checking out car stereos there (with no intention of buying, I don't want to pay their overhead, just wanted to get my hands on the product. Yes, I am a salesman, I know this is dick of me, but the kid that came up to me made it ok)

So this douchebag comes up to me, probably because he was assigned to the car audio department. I start BS'ing him, trying to seem like a real customer. It then became very apparent to me that this kid did not know anything about car stereos. I bs'd with him for a bit then said "ok, well I am just looking, trying to see whats out there" and he just let me go.

Either take the time to train your sales staff properly, or just don't have it.

I feel bad for some of the employees but I have received some lousy treatment there by some. Condescending very young computer guy tried to upsell me, and informed me that their cheapest laptop couldn't even boot up Windows...I bought an identical lower-end computer at WalMart and it met my simple needs. Strike one. Horrendous treatment by the "geek squad." Strike two. Bought a computer from Best Buy online, that had major hardware defects, and despite being told over the phone to return it to the local bricks-and-mortar store, the local store informed us that they had NOTHING to do with the online store and could not help us or return the computer, and to please take it home and return it by mail to BestBuy.com. Overall just lousy and ignorant service, and wasted hours of our time. Strike three.

This is what free markets are for kids, they have lots of downsides, but they do take out the low-hanging fruits like Best Buy.

Best Buy's store level employees are like 90% teenagers anyway.

They missed one... my local store is the reason i will NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN.

what the fuck is the point of having these people running around asking if you need help every 3 seconds, if theyre just going to lie to you when you ask them serious questions?

i just wanted a small tv for my room, and my only real issue was that the box needed to be small enough to fit in my car because i didnt want to waste time or money renting a truck.

i tell him that right off, and give him the measurements of my car to be sure
and then we go through this whole 45 minute song and dance where he recommends various small tvs all of which look really out of date to me.. i settle on the best one and i even pay for the damn thing.. and he finally wheels out a box big enough for a whole family of homeless people to live in, when i point that out he blows me off, tells me the weird highschool drop out looking kid up front will help me "fit it" into my car, and disappears into the back

and the bored dead-eyed mouth-breather kid is like "oh he probably meant the tv could fit if we take it out of the box, but you have to sign this paper saying if we take it out and it breaks then we cant take it back. maybe you should rent one of our trucks?"

yeah.. right... lol
i immediately walk over to customer service to return it even though it hasnt even left the store... and of course the manager or owner or whever walks over to hassle me and make sure "everything is ok?" and i blow the same sunshine up his butt that his employee gave me till he finally gives up and leaves me alone.



later i went to a local mom&pop chain with only a few stores in our area.. asked the same questions and yet got EXACTLY what i asked for this time.. box fit like a glove in my car, lol...plus it was almost brand new, a larger tv than the best buy one, PLUS its freaking 3D with netflix, amazon instant, youtube, hulu, etc.. connectivity, and it was on sale! LOL

yeah.. not setting foot in another one of those crap-houses.. the employees are too desperate to make sales.

What size 'bedroom' TV were you looking for that you were worried that the box wouldn't fit in your car?

Also, Best Buy employees don't get commission for sales so there isn't much incentive for them to persuade you to purchase something.

and they mostly stood around and talked to each other. Pretty useless if they did something it would be bothering your shopping. 3 in DFW got axed, Fry's kicked their candy ass

Fry's employees aren't any better. The people in their RMA/Returns Department can barely speak/write english.

All of these companies rely on cheap labor to stay profitable. Cheap labor means either teenagers, old people, or people who utilize English as a second language.

i dont remember what i ended up with at Best Buy. but i took home a 40 inch one.

thats why it pissed me off so much, it wasnt really a hard thing to figure out.

all i was asking him for was the options i had available in his store, and then i could choose what i thought preformed the best(with hopefully some helpful advice from him) and what size if i thought that mattered.

this was absolutely no problem at the store i ended up going to. they immediately pointed out the sale, which was awesome, and we compared it with others.

maybe the Best Buy just didnt carry any small boxed televisions? lol.
they act like they work on commissions.
maybe its just the voice in that damn earpiece they keep zoning out to focus on... but thats A-WHOLE-NOTHER rant i could be having right there. LOL.
