Do McDonald's burgers and fries belong in hospitals?

I eat Fast food once a month. I find I only have the urge to eat fast food when the pantry starts to get low. So never let that happen.

Seems like a hospital would be a good place to be if you're gonna eat that crap!

Fast food is perfectly safe to eat so long as you're not eating it all the time and do an appropriate level of exercise.

I ate McDonalds for the first time last week since I think Septemper or October last year. It tastes worse as I get older but the fries are acceptable.

That is the food that puts you in the hospital so why shouldn't it be available in the hospital to make you feel at home?

I honestly had no clue there were so many of these...I thought it was an anomaly, but 27 of these fast-fried ironies exist in our hospitals.

That made me almost blind...

Those in the hospital are not likely doing an appropriate level of exercise.

But it's not like I don't necessarily agree with you...I eat McDonalds. Not all the time, but sometimes I just don't have the cash or time to go elsewhere or go grocery shopping. I'm sure many of you are the same way.

You're right that they certainly have the freedom to operate wherever they think they'll get customers, but it's the hospital's responsibility to promote wellness to their customers...otherwise known as patients. It's more their fault than McDonalds.

The ones MOST at fault are those who aren't healthy enough to treat themselves to a salty, fatty delight at a fast food chain. I'm willing to bet that MANY of the customers eating in hospital McDonalds' are in the hospital for weight related problems. Heart disease...diabetes...

You must ask yourself what the purpose of a hospital is. To ensure and promote wellness right? What's the purpose of Alcoholics Anonymous? To keep you sober.
Well, when you're tempting many folks who have no business eating a greasy burger with a McDonalds...they're probably gonna give in to temptation. Just the same as if you offered booze at AA. It's no different a situation.

Let's face it; Some people can't just eat small amounts of fast food. They get carried away and end up with a gunt like the sweet little thing at the top of the page.

In a hospital? HELL NO!

In a hospice where the patients are dying anyway, it might be okay. The concerns of risk to health are out the window by the time you're in a hospice unit or on hospice at home.
