PRESS RELEASE: GREEN PRES. CANDIDATE ROSEANNE BARR CALLS FOR A YOUTH AND SCHOOL LOAN JUBILEE

"As POTUS I will forgive all student loans and ALL HOMEOWNER DEBT AND ALL CREDIT CARD DEBT," Green Party Presidential Candidate Tweeted shortly after her candidacy was announced. She would do this by ending the wars.

On April 1st, Roseanne Barr, the Green Party Candidate for President in 2012 announced via YouTube that she is "for the youth" and that she would never betray them. Roseanne is speaking out to the next generations. She has put her own children through college and was a job creator with her production company and award winning show, therefore helping others put their own kids through college. That was important to her, one of her priorities and a way for her to help others.

But that was then and this is now.

As millions of American families struggle to cope with foreclosures, loss of jobs, medical costs and other economic calamities, school loans are rising at twice the rate of inflation and this system encourages widespread borrowing -- often with little regard to a student's credit or ability to pay. This leaves the average college graduate with tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt. Anyone attending college right now can count on spending anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000 and even more in order to achieve a 4 year degree.

Since there are few good jobs anymore and most of our industry and production has been shipped overseas, most of the students getting ready to finish their studies soon will never be able to pay off their school loans in their lifetimes. And they are moving back in with Mom and Dad as they can't even support themselves or maintain a home of their own.

"This is not a sustainable system, it creates debt slavery and it cannot continue like this for much longer. Student loans are the next subprime mortgages.

And for the long term, it is all of us that will inevitably pay the high price." She said that she will never betray the youth. "I have a plan!"

As a Mother and a Grandmother, Roseanne knows that a solid education is what the next generations need for a bright and economically stable future and to sustain the next generations with the skills that they will need to survive and succeed. With the amount of education skyrocketing and expensive school loans with high interest rates the only way that most can finance their higher education, Roseanne is calling for a Jubilee on all debt to include school loans.
