[link to www.emsc-csem.org] so Tele MB is a way of detecting earthquakes. It must be an automatic update... there are some articles on "Teleseismic Explosions..." Four discriminants commonly used to identify teleseismic events are depth from travel time, presence of long-period surface energy (mb vs. MS), depth from reflective phases, and polarity of first motion So there apparently must have been "long period surface energy" in those areas; meaning the ground was shaking for a long time. Mb is the way of measuring distant earthquakes. Still doesn't explain why they took them down off the site. |
