Is it longer than a baby's arm and shaped like a Nike swoop?
laugh

Lady Jane is right though. For a long time I've been sitting back reading and not initiating threads. Like Professor Jane, I have began to ration my food intake to begin preparing to avoid the shock of exponentially fewer calories available for my intake. I've been walking peanut (Dog) at the park at night and doing cardio to physically prepare for the singularity we all know is coming. I have also like you and Jane both mentioned been taking breaks so that I can mentally and psychologically prepare for said singularity. Our brains are overloaded with various forms of entertainment all day and every day. When we reach the aforementioned singularity many will go absolutely crazy for the simple fact that their cell phones don't work. Nevertheless the complete lack of any form of electronic entertainment. Can either of you imagine the horror of gaggles of 14 yr olds running around with non functioning cell-phones?

swaze

It will be like packs of badgers....chuckle

It's gonna be nuts, dude, but really, kinda fun, I think. Maybe the teenage girls can pretend they're playing Frontierville. Come to think of it, maybe that's what Frontierville was about all along. blink

Speak of the devil. What up, Scrump? Good to see you again, brother.
 Quoting: ReVbo™

Frontierville? What am I missing? Is it anything like Oregon Trail?(telling on my age) chuckle
 Quoting: Nickadeemus

Some silly Facebook game the kids are playing these days. Good practice, though. At least, from a logistical standpoint. The real deal is gonna be a bit more backbreaking than a few clicks, unfortunately.
 Quoting: ReVbo™

Yeah it's not so easy without a couch and air conditioning. Sounds cool though. I think I may have a look. I hated Oregon trail. It didn't matter WTF I did, my camp always died as soon as I tried to ford the river. Damn river.

 Quoting: Nickadeemus

seriously, the "sibling" part kind of threw me. Usually children are left as executors of an estate. And who is "American's" siblings to begin with? Do we have any?

Has it yet ocurred to you that we are all brothers and sisters?

People need to stand up for their rights instead of having the GOV'T say that they .....

NEED TO TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS TO BETTER PROTECT US FROM TERRORISTS ....AKA PATRIOT ACT....

Yes folks read it and weep - no choice, no rights, and NO shit YOU will do what they tell YOU to do! The corruptness of the individuals who designed the "PIECE OF SHIT ACT" is exactly that...But in a pile the size of the Gov't waste that created such. If you think that the person or people who submit to a life of politics are looking for doing good to the PEOPLE who they SERVE - you are a sheeple and must have your head so far up you tight sheep ass...If politicians have your best interest in mind you would see more balance in the the haves anf the have nots....

So after my soap box ranting in hind sight we have lost our rights that our ancestors fought for many moons ago AND are losing the fight to keep these secure for our sons/daughters, grandkids and future generations. Our Forefathers saw this long ago and GAVE US RIGHTS FROM A CORRUPT GOV'T which try in every way to keep THE PEOPLE an arms lenght away from them.

Nick, all I could do for the last 10 minutes was sit here and cry. You have put to words, this ache in my heart.

Those in my circle, capable of facing this truth at all, are horrified, angry and confused by the lack of outcry. Most of us are older and simply don't know what to do beyond writing letters and trying to get past our children's wall of denial.

More than a few of us would gladly offer all we have if Anyone of Honor were trying to give this grand dame a transfusion to save her.

Thank you. I will print this and pass it around to my sleeping brethren.

Not that I wanted to upset you, but your reply above all others honors me the most. You and those like you are the reason I wrote it to begin with. You have carte blanche to pass this piece along to whom ever you chose. I hope and pray with all of my being that in some way it has helped you, and will continue to help you put words to your feelings. If there was a prize I could give out for "The Best Reply" you would win it regarding my thread. It has been my distinct pleasure to have been pinned by Revbo and honored by so many;especially you. Thanks so much for your words of kindness and your passion. We CAN win. We must do it together.

All my love.

I'm not sure how, this piece was completely original. Feel free to use plagiarism software to confirm. Truth be known the idea came from the movie with John Cusac called Serendipity. Johns best friend in the movie played by Jeremy Piven wrote an obituary for John after he lost the love of his life. I used the idea of writing an Obitz for our way of life. There's the truth. Won't get much of that around here buddy.

Wow. I'm amazed at the critiques. The OP speaks volumes for most (if not ALL) of us.

If you are this so full of angst and just have an innate need to vent, how 'bout starting with: the Constitution (Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion and Petition ) ending with "Pledge of Allegiance" (....with liberty and justice for all)

That will keep you busy for weeks.... tearing apart those babies!

Your welcome....though, I feel it's over. Not for Lady Liberty, which resides in most of our hearts/spirits, but as an institution/country.

Sadly, we of like minded folk, just may have to gather in a State or States and make our own stand. Will they really kill us all in the name of "their" Liberty?

I feel they would not. What kind of message would that send the world?

A rebirth of let's say...The Republic of Texas? I don't know, the first State who even suggests this is where you'll find me!

But, as for now, my last hope resides with Ron Paul...a small shinning beacon of light in the vast darkness that has engulfed us all.

Thanks so much for the kind words AC. You're dancing all around an excellent point. Part of our problem is centered around this very phenomenon. More often than not, folks are missing the sum of the message and dissecting the constituents of said message. As result (in the real world) others capitulate and change the details. This warps the whole message and eventually it is lost or eradicated. Notice how all of the critiques that have been negative tend to focus on one minute part rather than the message as a whole? Good points for sure AC. Thanks for your passion and concern. I promise though, I will not capitulate.

Not to condone their unsavory behavior but I think so many people are just so angry, that they can't put their finger on 'why'
So....when the opportunity presents itself (an open forum where your anonymity is cloaked and protected) they tend to act out like a 5-year old in need of a nap. For a 5-year doesn't know why he's acting out when he's tired...he just feels a need to express his discomfort.

This country will never be what it was promised to be by the Founders.

We're in a literal unwind and down whirl spiral. Like a healthy shit being flushed in a toilet.

Much of this came on the morning of Sept 11th. Perhaps the critiques are a bit too young and weren't directly effected by that day?..... and are just caught up now in the throes of this dismantling? I don't know but that's my guess.

My life changed before my eyes that morning. I am a mature, passionately pissed off woman who is watching this world purge and merge and it's not beneficial to any of us. Just an agenda that doesn't include us.

We're relinquishing our liberty's way too freely all under this false presentation and guise of some bogus national security.

Once again, I thank you for your intellect and ability to put our thoughts within your words for the whole wide world of the web to read and ponder!

Those who claim to represent freedom are slaves of corruption! Better do some more research into the origins of this nations foundations! The liberal humanist mindset handed down through the centuries molded the thinking of those who founded America. The Freemason's and associated occult groups like the Jesuits, all of whom form the Illuminati, were the creators of this nation's form of government. Their mindset is opposed to the teachings of the One True God and the doctrine of Christ. Time to really wake up, bozo's!
