I have a question for you...

Where are all the fathers of the children in this?

Last time I checked, they had a hand in this as well.

I am a Christian woman and I support the right for the parents to choose a legal and safe abortion. My theology is mine and it is not my place to force anyone else to live by my standards. I am responsible for only my actions and those of my children until they come of age.

If either parent wants that child and it is safe for the pregnancy to continue, then the parent who wants the child should has right to raise it.

If the mother does not want the child and the father does, he has the right to realize the birth of that child and raise it even if she does not. It is also reasonable to expect that he receive child support from the mother even if she chooses not to be involved after the birth. I have heard the argument that no one has the right to force the woman to go through an unwanted pregnancy but that is incorrect. The father has an equal right and has legal standing. Without his donation, there would be no pregnancy. The mother made her choice when she spread her legs. The inverse is true as well. In my opinion, the father has the right to charge the mother with the same charges anyone who through accident or intentionally committed a crime that resulted in the loss of a pregnancy would be charged if she aborts his child without his knowledge or consent.

Women say they want to be treated equally. That would have to include reproductive issues as well. Equality is a two way street and it is time we recognize that the man has a say in the matter. We are so quick to point fingers when a man steps out of the picture, when you abort a man's child without his knowledge or consent that is exactly what you are doing to him only worse. He does not have the benefit of having that child like you do when he leaves.

As for the math, yeah.. your math is skewed. There are a ton of people walking around who call themselves christian because they went to Sunday school when they were little but have not been back since.

Also, the ratio of procedure percentages vs percentage of over-all population.
