Stedanko I regret that it does, you know, that it does add costs that the taxpayer has to pick up, Panetta said during a Pentagon briefing Monday, speaking publicly for the first time about the flight costs. A taxpayer would have to pick up those costs with any secretary of state or secretary of defense. But having said that, I am trying to look at what are ... the alternatives here that I can look at that might possibly be able to save funds and, at the same time, be able to fulfill my responsibilities, not only to my job, but to my family. <End Snip> Here's a thought...your number one responsibility is to your country. You should've moved your family out of California to D.C., it's not like you haven't been in D.C. for a while. You better learn how to use Skype. [link to www.washingtonpost.com] This jackass (Panetta) and Pelosi should be in jail for stealing from the US treasury. $32,000 per trip? Every weekend? They wonder why we are mad. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 14535691 United States 04/17/2012 06:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Panetta is worse than the bird people. My parents are bird people. They think they need to buy houses where it is warm/cold to move around with the seasons. Like flying south for the winter. They are running around like a bird with its head cut off. If Panetta is like my Dad he is listening to his wife. Fl to Mo back and forth how much time & money have they spent with this rat race. I guess when you are going to hell you want to burn those miles to see as much as possible in the few short miserable years left of your existence. |

Makes one sick. Now, O wants to check out next vacation spot for him and wife in Columbia. If you break my wings, I will just find a cloud and learn to fly again. The Lord will catch you when you fall or teach you to fly! May the footprints I leave lead you to BELIEVE. |

RayGun User ID: 2404633 United States 04/17/2012 09:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've said this before on here but here goes again. In the old days. The money in America came from states like (Michigan, Ohio, Illinois , California) where factories made products and sold them. Now the richest per capita place in the country is Washington DC. They take from the producers and distribute to the leaches (lawyers, politicians, and government) and could care less about the average middle class working family. Ronald Reagan was the last president that understood America. The Bushes, Clinton, and Owebama have sold us to China and Mexico and Japan and whoever else that can pay a politician to look the other way while their predatory trade practices continue. This isn't going to end well. |
Sgt. At a cost of $32,000 each time you want to clear your mind?! oh noes I got caughted! |

Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was sitting next to Panetta during the Pentagon briefing and jumped to the secretary's defense. "Let me help the boss here, because if I couldn't get a hold of him, we'd have a really different relationship," said Dempsey, adding that Panetta "doesn't get much rest in California, based on the number of times I know that I'm in contact with him." So not only does this statement undermine Panetta's reasoning for wasting taxpayer money but he doesn't rest because you call him all the time?! Last Edited by Sgt. If Panetta was any other government employee, his behavior would be considered to fall under both "waste" and "abuse" categories of fiscal misappropriation. Garnish his wages until he has paid it all back. Same for Pelosi, who needs to learn to fly coach with the bourgeoisie ... er, her constituents. |
