Oh they have. Research the giant of Castelnau. There is a long list of giants reported in Europe and America who were massive, some over 10 feet. Magellon records giants that were so tall his men only reached to their waist. These were 8 to 9 foot giants or taller.

Because they were all killed off. They were abominations to God.

I don't necessarily believe that all giants were evil. But the ones that were Nephilim certainly were.

what race do you believe them to have been from? this is a subject very curious to me as i do indeed have ancestors who were over 9 feet tall. someone brought it to my attention here on glp last year when i mentioned my family name. they got really weird with me and said my family was illuminati nephilim. i did actually find stuff to show this was true. it freaked me out really bad.

so what race do you believe the giants were predominantly?

You can't be human and still be a giant.
No human can function at that size, not one.
So these would have to be an entirely different specie of hominid.

So no, they aren't giants if the average size of the specie is the same. (I.E 7+ feet)

It's hard to say. In North America, there were Indian traditions of many differnet types of giants. The Allegewi, were black bearded giants twice as tall as a normal man. Then there were the Si te Cah of Nevada, 7 to 9 foot red haired cannibals. There were stories of giants with six fingers, cone heads, and double rows of teeth. There are also the accounts of bigfoot creatures that could reach 12, and 15 feet tall. I think the Nephilim is sort of a vague term used for all of these giants, when in reality it is much more complex. Certainly, one cannot judge people simply by their size and features, many good people existed who were giants. Yet, some tribes were cannibals. So it's a mixed bag.

That's correct, they would be a different variation of human. The bone densities involved and the skeletal adjustments would be necissary for heights exceeding 9 and 10 feet. That's exactly what you see in some of the bones. Very thick. But, they are still people.

That's like saying, just because they find a race of Hobbits on Flores Island, who were 3 feet tall, they aren't humans. Well, yes they are. Just a different variation of us.

My great-great grandmother was talked about as being a very tall, large woman. Her name? Granny Sizemore. Interesting!

Some of these giants were not Nephilim, but just larger versions of humans.

The Indians had tribes with some men who were much bigger, faster, stronger than many modern day athletes.

For instance, take "Kots-a-to-ah" a warrior 7 feet tall described by the painter George Catlin in 1830, as the fastest man among his Osage tribe. He could run down a buffalo and spear it as he ran beside it. Buffalo can run 30 -40 mph. These were the days before the Indians used horses to hunt buffalo. They hunted on foot.

Sievert Nielson recounts a giant 7 foot Indian among the Seri nation, who could run down a deer and break its neck with his bare hands.

Some tribes did practice cannibalism, but this was rare. I think people in the pre-historic world were extremely tough, strong, and fast, excellent hunters who could take down a 12 -14 ft mammoth and skin its hide, and fight 12 foot bears with spears. Today the best hunters rely on high powered rifles and arrows. I don't know a single man who would attempt to fight a Grizzly or Kodiak with clubs and spears.

Natural selection probably favored taller stronger giant type people when the giant animals were still roaming the continent. Some of the mastodon bones have been carbon dated at 3,000 to 5,000 years, so they didn't just magically go extinct at the end of the ice age-- the giant mammals lingered on probably into recorded history. There were still giant condors with 9-10 foot wingspan glyding across the Columbia river when Lewis and Clark arrived in Oregon.

Most of these tall tribes were decimated by 1900. I think they may have descended from the Mound builders and Adena, Hopewell people, who in turn may have had a mixture of Asiatic and Caucasoid origin -- which might explain accounts of red and black bearded giants.

Vine shares Native Elders' stories about a race 10-12 feet tall, another 14 inches tall. Skeletons of this size found by early settlers are mentioned in their diaries.

In the winter of 1890, French anthropologist Georges Vacher de Lapouge was working at a dig at a Bronze-age cemetery in the tiny town of Castelnau-le-nez, France. There, at the bottom of the burial mound, de Lapouge unearthed a set of bones that made him stop in his tracks. The fossilized remains, dating to the Neolithic period, were of a human that would have been 11 ½ feet tall.

De Lapouge published pictures of the fossilized humerus, tibia, and femoral mid-shaft bones next to a normal humerus in the journal La Nature and described the bones in detail:

“I think it unnecessary to note that these bones are undeniably human, despite their enormous size …. The first is the middle part of the shaft of a femur, 14 cm length, almost cylindrical in shape, and the circumference of the bone is 16 cm …. The second piece is the middle and upper part of the shaft of a tibia …. The circumference is 13 cm at the nutrient foramen … the length of fragment is 26 cm …. The third, very singular, was regarded by good anatomists as the lower part of a humerus …. The volumes of the bones were more than double the normal pieces to which they correspond. Judging by the usual intervals of anatomical points, they also involve lengths almost double …. The subject would have been a likely size of 3m, 50.”

These bones represent the largest human ever known to have existed. The bones of the so-called Giant of Castelnau were sent to the University of Montpelier to be further studied, where it was determined that they represented “a very tall race.”

Although the scientists would not firmly say whether this was indicative of a race of giants or just one individual of abnormal growth, a discovery in 1894 close to Castelnau seems to prove the former. While excavating a water reservoir in Montpelier, France, workers unearthed a prehistoric cemetery that contained remains of a number of human giants. Skulls 28, 31, and 32 inches in circumference were reported as well as other bones of gigantic size, indicating a race of men between 10 and 15 feet in height.

The findings from both sites were reported in science magazines and newspapers—even The New York Times—before being sent to the Paris Academy for further study. Amazingly, not a word about them has been written since. The race of giants from Old Gaul remains one of the great archeological mysteries to this day.

The famous wresler in the 80s , Andre The Giant was 7' 1" tall
and he was well built unlike present day 'giants' who are skinny with bone problems

Plus his grandfather was said to be 7 ft 8. Also Andre was said to have more teeth than a normal man. It might have been an urban legend.

Andre was born in Grenoble France, lots of giant skeletons have been reported near Grenoble, and southern France as the article above discusses. Could be Nephilim? or just a race of really big guys.

I am a Sizemore. The name has very mysterious origins. This explanation for the family name has never occurred to me. Very interesting! We're probably related somewhere...

Size more.. haha there are other funny names that have meanings. Lange, or Longe, means long or tall and is a dutch or Belgian name.
