Didn't He rise in the afternoon?
Messiah died @ 3pm on Wednesday but had to be entombed before sundown because Thursday was the the High Day Sabbath of Passover. So... Approx 6pm
In order to be 3 days and 3 nights (no it is not a Hebrewism, this is a strict 72 hrs) Messiah would have had to have risen in that 3 hr period on Saturday, the weekly Sabbath.
It was not discovered until just before Dawn on Sunday that He had risen, but that does not mean that He rose at Dawn on Sunday.
Since Saturday was the Sabbath and there were travel restrictions, I do not think (but I am not sure) that they would have been able to go to the tomb on Saturday with the oils and herbs.
Quoting: Buddaroll EXACTLY SO! lOOK HERE IS WHAT THROWS OF PEOPLE AND IT WAS BY DESIGN!
Luke chapter 23
54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
This sabbath was the holy convocation on the day of passover if the high holy day fell on a week day.It is to be declared a sabbathNow look what king james and the other bibles did to confuse the masses. They did not specify the three days after but they jumped right into the first day sunday giving the impression it was a weekly sabbath in chapter 23.Luke chapter 241
Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
Quoting: Neim-Ya'shar This is why I do not understand the Friday crucifiction argument..
It never made sense to me and trust me, I angered many pastors with it since I was 5. LOLOL
If Jesus was crucified on Friday and had to be entombed before sunset Friday..
And the women bought their Herbs on Friday...
Well, really? Do we really think that would have left his side to go buy herbs an oils?
Not only that, but if they had the Herbs on Friday, say they purchased them in the morning, just in case...
Then they would not have needed to take them with them on Sunday because they would have taken care of that when they entombed Him, wouldn't they?
A Friday crucifiction does not make sense no matter how you look at it.
Not only that, but all of the Feasts in the "OT" are set by Date, not Day.
Why would an ever consistent God, change the manner in which Holydays are determined?
Off topic..
