I saw the interview and was impressed by his “To the point” comments on the politicizing of our military's command structure. I agree that there is a great deal we as a nation should be ashamed of, primarily, that we are ultimately responsible for leaders who value political correctness over the welfare of its people.

Col. Peters wrote a series of Civil War detective novels under the pen name Owen Parry. The books are great, Peters is a gifted writer.

Thats just it, the ones coming out saying things like this have no authority, but are under authority.

Honorable yet he is, the Col. is a lab dog for others. Ultimately the American People are the authority, but the office they hold have been vacant for some time. No wonder others took office of it, in our absence.

We are the only ones to blame, and if no one can understand that yet, then things will continue as they are and get worse.

The power is derived and invested in the "People". Not the Congress. Not the cops. Not the officials. Not the Senate. Not the Judiciary. Not the Administration. Not the FBI, homeland security, CIA, or any other group, or sub group that is comprised of our "servants".

But the majority of Americans still want big brother, to take care of them, and act as Trustee of their Estate. Which is the body. Your body.

No one knows who they are in this relationship. There is a whole generation of slaves. Literally.

A People get in government no more or less than what they demand and who they are. The government in which manifests from these things is only a reflection of the people that comprise it.

Thus, it can be safely assured, that the majority of Americans are just like the Government in which they support, fund, and abide in.

They have forgotten who they are as beneficiaries of the inheritance.

I appreciate the LTC's response, and agree...unless you have walked a mile in our shoes, you really have no idea what you are talking about. I also agree it was a stupid thing to do for the guys to pose with the bomber's remains...many of us have dark senses of humor, often needed to cope with the realities of war. I have photos that will never see the light of day, which I took as evidence in case charges were ever leveled at me for political purposes.

I condemn all the pundits and politicians who from the safety of their cushy and exorbitant lifestyles throw bombs at guys that are down range. Especially ones who give cover to government maleficence and wrong doing (Fast and Furious comes to mind).

Having said all that, and because this IS a conspiracy website...Do any of you find it a little curious that in the past couple months there has been one bad press event after another concerning Afghanistan and the troops? The Quran burnings, the murders, the photos...to me it just seems to be timed and put into place for one reasons I wont post here. The LA Times posted pictures that were taken TWO YEARS AGO for christ's sake! For ten years...all they had was Abu Ghraib to shellac and demean the troops with, but in less than 6 months, its been one bad news story painting troops in a bad light after another???

And why would the American Military need to be put into a bad spotlight during these times. Men who will kill; for the most part, criminals within destroying the Nation.

Same reason they labeled Vets as "potential terrorist" in the MIAC report.
