(S of B'ham and N of Talladega) We were trveling thru the area. In the middle of the tour, I looked at my family and said, "Ya know...this would be a terrible time for an earthquake!" Yeah, morbid thought...I know! Anyway, if you look around the cavern, you can see evidence of some pretty intense quakes. Cool stuff!!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 8437259 United States 04/23/2012 09:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | cannot see any history of this happening before. 5 quakes in appox 24 hours is unheard of around these parts. I am not sure if it is just shakes due to the big stuff going on around the globe or an event of it's own starting. Maybe a combo of both? I have got to stop watching and get on with life! |

Few and far between fortunately, but when the big ones come they are devastating. Here's the fault that bisects the state. [link to news.discovery.com] Article. [link to news.discovery.com] |

Are you thinking these are a precursor to a much larger event? Or what? Because otherwise....so what if theres quakes there? WHATS THE BIG DEAL? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12781603 well i dont know but it could be a fracking situation. the USGS isnt listing any of these quakes, plus the area of activity is a big natural gas producing area. YES, i think we will see more activity and larger quakes down the road. |
