yes this is an lens flare.
I'm not a sheeple in denial of what really is out there however this photo is nothing!
A video.. moving the camera around etc would prove a point but not a single image.

i know the red and white thing and the pink blobs are lens flare or simlar, but i have never seen anything like the greenish perfectly round thing before.

I couldn't see it in the sky, but it shows up in the photo

so, take the photo again from various angles, and not from behind a window. if its still there, then maybe my alarm bell will begin its gradual warning hum

Love is not the game, life is.
-
When we wake up in this "reality" every morning, we are actually falling asleep, because only in our dreams we are truly awake.
-
We are not our body, nor our mind. We are not the voice in our body, nor our head. We are the the here and now, experiencing without any input from either of the mentioned above.
-
It's not about others forgiving you, but whether you can forgive yourself.
-
It doesn't take much energy to make the wrong decision. But to make the right one, you have to put every fiber of your being to it.
-
I know i have a lot to work on. But knowing that there's no hairy ass man in the clouds to judge me when I have little bit of fun on the expense of someone elses ignorance, makes life a whole lot easier.

it isn't taken from behind a window, just from a shady part of the deck

it is not easy to get photo's like this of the sun going down, the cloud is always so thick.

So it is just luck if you happen to notice a little break in the clouds

but yes of course i will keep trying for me, tomorrow if possible. Today was too cloudy. Photo was taken yesterday

Effect happens inside the camera to stop the light saturating the lens and making it one huge nothing.

Lens flare is the light scattered in lens systems through generally unwanted image formation mechanisms, such as internal reflection and scattering from material inhomogeneities in the lens. These mechanisms differ from the intended image formation mechanism that depends on refraction of the image rays. Flare manifests itself in two ways: as visible artifacts, and as a haze across the image. The haze makes the image look "washed out" by reducing contrast and color saturation (adding light to dark image regions, and adding white to saturated regions, reducing their saturation).

Op, it is lens flare,but......

know what interests me, it is the small very bright green light actually on green circle lens flare, at that point on the sun itself, there is what looks like a beam or something extending off it...., that is not your usual rays of light you get off the sun when you take a picture of it....

If you didn't see it in the sky, then it is an artefact of the lens system of the camera. Simple as that - all things being equal (visible light, normal focal length, etc).

It is a lens flare.

Did you see Venus in the sky about 5 degrees from the moon today. Yes, Venus is bright enough to be visible, naked eye, during the day.

i couldn't see it because of the glare of the sun.

it doesn't show up in the other pics i took, because, for this photo i was lucky enough to get a break in the cloud..
