Despite countless hours sparring and doing groundwork I have only had two serious encounters after which you shake like shit and feel a little sick due to the adrenalin dump.I am extremely non-violent but we live in a violent world so you have to know something about self defense.

Why not join a Krag-Maga or other good self defense course OP they'll take you in any condition and hell you might just loose a few pounds get healthier and a lot more self confident in the process.

If it was one person I know I would defend myself if I had to but a group of people about to attack you would be pretty scary. If I couldnt run I would fight them off though.

I was a rich kid but my parents fucked up financially and I was pulled out of the second best private school in england and thrown in with the plebs in trashy state school. first day there I was out of my depth and taking heat so the biggest fucking guy in the year beacame my punchbag. he had dental braces but was enormous, a few good hits to the mouth and his braces cut the inside of his lips and blood everywhere. after that no one fucked with me for 5 years that I was there. apart from cunts like me it was a pretty good school. ah crazy days.

Get one of those large crowd control pepper sprays and a belt loop container for it. Runs about 60-70 bucks. If you live in a state that it is illegal befriend someone out of state and have them send it to you. Also a back up collapsible baton, spray them then beat them. If you cant get pepper spray try wasp spray. Just know there is a risk involved with jail. Beaten or jail, beaten or jail. Hard to decide i know.

Yeah the other day in LA i got kicked out of the club for being drunk and 18 so i couldnt get a wristband, but anyway some dudes started pressing me and one of them hit me then it was me and a security guard vs 7 and we ended up kicking ass cause i was in fight or flight mode i thought these cholos were gonna put me in the hospital but it ended as so for four of them. The cops kept my license just in case one of them dies but other than that we walked away four of them didnt, no charges self defence a busted lip and black eye couple scratches but other than that im good. Btw im 6'1 205

It does make one think of "What if", when it takes a group against one, and I mean group, not to many can defend themselves without a gun.

If a gun isn't your style, look for a 3" to 4" locking blade knife. With the quality, the light construction material, the weight has been cut way down, makes it easier to carry.

I myself like the Leatherman Blast multi-tool, the 3" blade is razor sharp. Also carrying one usually isn't questioned, not like a folding knife.

This is real life not the movies and the blood and pain are real. So defending yourself is a must, with the almost daily attacks by groups, it is only a matter of time before it is in your state, city, neighborhood.

The military base I work on restricts civilian employees to knives with blades less than 3" and absolutely no firearms. I suppose I could still find a decent knife to carry around. I do have a multitool but getting the knife out is no quick task. Perhaps I can look into some pepper spray as well. Not just for myself, but for my wife and kids, too.

I do have some guns at home, so at least I'm slightly more prepared there if something goes down. The house in general could use some more security improvements, though.

I wish I was like my cousin when it comes to fighting. He used to do some amateur fighting similar to Toughman for awhile. At a college football game a few years ago, some drunk idiot fans of the opposing team started jumping on his friend's truck. When he was done with them, he'd left 3 cold cocked; one in particular was lying with teeth scattered around his smashed face.

I've fought off multiple people before. Sometimes while bouncing groups of guys would try to jump me. I love when a group of guys is talking shit and act like they are going to rush you, the first one comes in and I knock him out cold with one left and the rest back off.
