Funny how places with enough food to support lots of children have massive birth declines, and places where there is nada food, they pop out babies like it was popcorn in a oven.

You pretty much make my point:

I believe we have responsibilities for others.

In the case of your example, the parent have a responsibility for their children.

And if I see a friend that is about to fall into a trap, I believe it's my responsibility to help him, and that should be encouraged by the society and the laws.
