Turned off cookies
About a week ago, I set my browser to ask if a site wants to give me a cookie.

All I can tell you is: WOW I never knew so many sites are wanting to give you tracking cookies. It just blows my mind. NOW, I rather enjoy clicking the REFUSE button. :-)

I ran a scan with spybot search and destroy. 100 trackers. UNREAL. I haven't gotten any more trackers since then. But it still just blows me away. WHY do they need to do this? Oh yea, the money...

Hey Geek! Sounds good to me. I'm not computer savvy myself.
Will you share a simple "cookie cutter" with us? Thanks!

I use Opera, and you can set it in preferences... Also in firefox. Not sure about IE. I'm sure it has a setting somewhere. In Opera I set it to ask. LOVE Opera, because hardly anyone uses it, therefor, less code written for it. :-)

Re: Turned off cookies
bear in mind that some sites need to use cookies so that the webserver can tell that you are logged in as a certain user, for example. if you turn off cookies and some site that you like to use suddenly breaks or stops working properly, that could be why.

Turning cookies off is good - but I found it so annoying having to constantly accept or reject....I just opted to only allow the original site and no 3rd party ones.

Then I empty cookies once a week or more. Much easier to surf.

Excuse me?

It's what I do and why. Didn't say turning cookies off was bad - just inconvenient and not my preference.

I think he talked too much about his part of the Flight 93 clean-up is Shanksville. hiding

“The fire had been so severe there was no aircraft left,” says Goldsmith, describing the crash site as it looked just hours after impact. “By the time we got there, there wasn’t even any smoke. Just eight or nine men in white protective suits moving around a crater, with a line of trees behind them, burnt black.”
