RIGHT NOW - Evacuations ongoing in Hudson, Pasco Co., FL - (UPDATED as details come in)

Some commercial buildings on fire.

Fire has reached US 19, and apparently, a business complex as well now.

Dispatcher asking for assistance, can't handle it herself.

One tanker is out of water.

They're having a hard time getting this under control. Sounds like it has reached a wooded area.

Multiple explosions southwest side of the fire.

Anyone from Pasco near Hudson to confirm?

Fires, in Florida, which is surrounded by water, and downwind of the Gulf, which has gigantic dead zones. Well...here's my hypothesis on what's going on, and it seems to fit the observations of the world VERY WELL:

BayNews 9 just showed growing fire, door-to-door evacuations, and confirmed. It's in the woods.

That semi fire was pretty wild!

Fantastic. Golf course nearby. Wind + grass = fast move.

It's moving near a subdivision and growing.

I'll put up the April complete list tomorrow, and you can look through that too. I'll probably add a link to the top menu for the monthly updates, to make it easier and more intuitive, just didn't wanna do that until I had two full months of data.

But things ARE escalating. Just look at February or early March and compare to the events of late April. Things are getting pretty hairy!

Now that I see it compiled, it's true. Some of our recent fires definitely set off the weird stuff-o-meter.

Wall fire at one location, another wooded area, responders cannot gain access.

It went from 15 acres to 40 acres within an hour.

Yep. It's pretty breezy here. Doesn't help.

Shoot, they're talking about evacuating disabled residents, and they have no one to spare! :/

Some power is about to get cut.

Backup from Hernando Co. is there. Haven't heard any updates about Hillsborough.

Approximately 150 evacuations thus far.

Now estimated 50 acres.

This is crazy! First time I heard of fires in Florida.

They happen all the time, actually. We implement burn bans quite often.
