Questions about U.K's and Europian political system.
1}. The British Parliament is the lower house, so I would like to know what does the House of Lords do and who has more power?

2}. How many years do BP's get to serve and how many of them are elected?

3}. Same question as number two for members of the European Union.

These are things I still have not known yet, so anybody with full knowledge of British and EU politics please let me know.

The House Of Lords is just a back up, the main stuff goes down in the House Of Commons and is then passed to the Lords for them to vote on.

Whenever there is an election, death, suspension. But now they have to have a vote for MP's at least every 5 years.

650.

MEP's are a bit more confusing, every 4/5 years we vote for them but when a party has enough votes to send someone they get to choose who they send rather than the electorate.

1. House of lords act like the senate to peer review and pass or retract laws and bills passed to them.

2. BP or MP's (?) - MP's (members of parliment)can stay in office as long as they are re-elected. Although members of the house of lords can remain in the house of lords indefinately..and usually do, LOL.
