How low can people go....

Layla - Sexually Abused Baby GirlI've seen a lot of horrible things since we started rescuing dogs, but never have I seen something quite like this. Three weeks ago, a good samaritan heard crying and headed towards the sound at the end of her driveway. There at her gate sat sweet Layla and she knew this little girl badly needed help. She took her to her vet who told her this puppy had never seen the sun. She had a rubber band wrapped tightly around her tail in an attempt to dock it. When she was found it was badly infected and some of it had to be removed. She was full of worms, covered with fleas and ticks, she had mange, deformed hind legs and by far the worst of all was the obvious sexually abuse she had suffered. Her little girl parts hang out from the trauma of being molested and at such a young age. The vet estimated her to be around 6 months old and in her very short life, I can't even begin to fathom the pain and suffering she has endured. This girl doesn't hold a grudge though, she is sweet, kind and so willing to please. She needs more help than her caretaker was able to give her. Layla needs x-rays on her hind legs and possibly surgery, she may need more than one. She continues to try to bite and bark at her tail as if it is still painful,l so it's possible more may need to be removed but we are unsure until she sees our vet. It is believed she lived her short life confined in a crate, more than likely only taken out to be molested. I can't imagine the monster that did this to her, but if anyone knows who may have contributed to her suffering, please email us immediately!
