does anyone still enjoy poetry?
POST SOME!

on fire from blazing a trail

very old but completely unique

this is all being documented

the paradoxical plasmate expands

reaching further

past the supposed boundaries

there is always something to remember

stars trading places

in spaces infinitely vast yet almost non existent

to wake

to sleep

to do

to be

do we even know what this means.

lighting fires since birth

the woods burned down but they replaced the space with housing developments

divisions of the same mind closed off in little boxes

the walls must come down

so shatter those mirrors to open the doors

Re: does anyone still enjoy poetry?
what is poetry?
verbal pottery?
be careful what they throw onto the wheel of life

is they what they say
those lost in mystery

when the truth is in plain sight

Re: does anyone still enjoy poetry?
None are mine, just favorites:

He that is thy friend indeed,
He will help thee in thy need:
If thou sorrow, he will weep;
If thou wake, he cannot sleep:
Thus of every grief in heart
He with thee does bear a part.
These are certain signs to know
Faithful friend from flattering foe.

In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said: "Is it good, friend?"
"It is bitter-bitter," he answered;
"But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart.
I color the world in the hues of my Madness!

An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded.

The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom...for we never know what is enough until we know what is more than enough.

Re: does anyone still enjoy poetry?
A Bee and Bear playing chess
Decided to take a moment's rest
By fireside with kettle hot
They discussed the day's events
A few fair Pawns sacrificed
A couple of Queens betrayed
A Bishop cut down in flight
While on his knees in prayer
Castles with four walls strong
Breached by volleys long
And a Knight struck down
While honor bound
Saved his King from Kingdom come

The water hot, they shared a pot
Of Bear's most excellent tea
A few small cakes and honey fresh
Were compliments of the Bee
Bear with thoughtful paw on chin
Mused a bit out loud
These games of war and strategy
Grow weary on my mind
Which Pawn to send to chopping block
Which Pawn to replace lost Queen
A Bishop here to crucify,
And there to check a King
Heavy is the crown said sad Bear to little Bee

Seems almost trite Bee buzzed to Bear
The way we play these games
Why can't good King stand up right
And take one for the team
For if All for One
Then One for All
Is a motto to emplore...
Tis too much to ask
Shot Bear right back
Though he could not quite ignore
The ring of truth now spoken plain:
A noble King self-sacrificed
Would indeed end the game

How she shines for us here below
Countless the hearts pledged by her light,
Sweet kisses exchanged in her glow.

that is the self-sacrifice
having to bare one up from the mud
who torches everything
not knowing the value of the ages being destroyed to naught

and suicide would first be their grave

because what goes around is fair

to suggest death
when one serves the light
just because he serves the light

is a hellfire upon a soul

and worse than murder to one's self
to even suggest and pursue such an end
on a sworn king

is to wring the wrath of God to the extreme

for God did not make kings to be fallen
but to lead
to kill one is to destroy all

I do enjoy poetry, but not in the traditional written form. I enjoy spoken poetry that's coupled with auditory bliss - music that speaks to the soul. Example for me:
