Just a little logic about "Venus", hopefully someone can actually prove me wrong.

We go through this every spring.

The green circle is Venus, the Yellow circle is Earth. You can see the positions and relative motions of the planets to help you visualize this.

BTW, when did NICT take down the realtime magnetosphere simulation permanently? It was up a couple of weeks ago.

I understand elliptical orbits, as well as shorter orbital periods. I just don't comprehend how it is supposed to go from up in our night sky,to transiting the sun in day time in less than a month

Where is Venus then?

It is most certainly not on the opposite side of the Sun. It is about 36 degrees away. Venus will continue to follow its predicted path.
