SO now tell me folks, how many days per year/rate Venus is NOT visible from the Earth?

what the fuck is this astronomy class? read a book dumbass, you people would have been the first ones sacrificing virgins whenever there was a solar eclipse...just because you don't have the mental capacity to understand basic solar system astronomy doesn't mean there's a conspiracy, it simply means you aren't very bright.

How many degrees of separation should be between Venus and the sun for you to consider it "visible?" "Visibility" is a non-specific subjective quality and you're asking for a quantitative answer. What's not visible to me by eye can be visible to my scope, and at low angles of separation you need to have a clear line of sight to the true horizon to have any hope of seeing it. I strongly urge you to study astronomy for yourself so you can understand how these things work because clearly you don't.

Shill, obviosly I mean NOT visible from all the surface of the Earth as it happens on the Venus transit to the Sun as well or when it's the new moon that comes for 3 days a month.

You really don't know a **** about astronomy. Back playing with your toys.

SO you tard really don't know that venus could pass behind (which is not visible) or in front of the sun (which is visible with Venus transit phenomena) passing through only.

Yes, I'm well aware of that, but you did not answer my question (regarding how many degrees of separation from the sun is the cutoff of "visibility" to you), nor was your previous response sensible. "New moon" has nothing to do with it, genius.

No shill, you still NO anwser at my question as I predicted. However the new moon phenomena, when the moon itself it's not visible from the whole Earth, is the same phenomena that should be happen to Venus.

SO again the question IS:

How many time rate Venus is not visible at all from the earth during the year?

LMFAO! So let me get this right, you're too stupid to describe Venus being too close to the sun in the sky properly, so you have to equate it to a "new moon," even after I specifically asked you how many degrees of separation from the sun would you say is the cutoff for "visibility."
SO again the question IS:

How many time rate Venus is not visible at all during the year?

Only made it to page 3 so far so this example may have been used already...

Think about this scenario I'm sure we've all experienced before. You look up into the sky one night and see a bright light that's not blinking. It's real far away and high up. You think OMG- UFO!! So you watch it as it gets closer and bigger. Then suddenly as it gets close, you notice a faint blinking. And it's direction seems to change just a little. It went from being a fairly stationary bright light to a blinking one as it flies overhead at 30-40K feet and then quickly passes over you and off into the distance.

It was a plane flying basically straight over you and at a high elevation. As it approaches, it appears to stay in one spot until it crosses over you and then it's now moving from your side to side view. It would appear to have changed course, or sped up. Which it didn't.

It's all perspective.

Hope this makes sense.

Yeah your example is much simpler. I just used the airplane/UFO analogy for effect. People marveling at at Venus are probably also marveling at UFO's.

While I will admit, this is the first time I've seen Venus like this, I'll also admit this is the first time I've really taken the time to look up on a regular basis. For me it started last year with Jupiter in the west. Started noticing it while walking my dog at night. 99% of the people here probably just started looking up. I blame and give credit to the Elenin/ Nibru frenzy. If nothing else, at least we can give that phenomenon credit for getting people to look upwards...

Someone also mentioned the star just above Venus that just recently I too started noticing. I am curious what star that is. I can only guess that because Venus is now dimming, that it's becoming more visible? Or perhaps it's just the position of Venus now that is drawing attention to this star that has always been there?

I just can't wait to see it transit the sun in June. That should be really cool to see!!

 Quoting: Gthree777

Venus hasn't dimmed that much, only about 2/100th of a magnitude, nothing you would notice at this point. The Star next to Venus was mentioned here [link to www.spaceweather.com] You can see it at time 13:01 on the below video. Note how around noon the ecliptic is angled upwards and Elnath appears to the side of Venus. Then near 'Venus set' the ecliptic has angled steeply downward placing Elnath slightly 'above' Venus as the Spaceweather picture. This is another example of that 'mysterious' field rotation. Venus is a planet, it moves with relation to the stars, so, Venus and Elnath have not always been this close.

Re: Just a little logic about "Venus", hopefully someone can actually prove me wrong.
If Venus is what we are seeing in the night sky (getting bigger every night) then how is it supposed to move so far in a month that it will pass in front of the sun, when at the moment it is on the opposite side?

If it WERE on the 'opposite side' of the Solar System, it wouldn't be seen NEAR the Sun.

And it's so much CLOSER to the Sun than the Earth is, THAT is why it's always seen near the Sun, either morning OR evening.

So why do we see it so high, far far away from the sun and so bright in the night sky?
