And here is a prime example of you taking the Word of God and making it the way you want it be, instead of what it actually says.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 720033

So if a book says "bible" on the cover, I should simply read it and incorporate into my beliefs what it appears to say, and not look any deeper than what's on the page in front of me, not invite the Author to oversee my understanding, and not consider other factors, such as the customs of the days and lands in which the texts were initially issued?

Now you are grasping at straws and detracts from the Truth as plainly stated.

We are not talking about a book that has "bible" on the cover.

EVERY TRANSLATION has the same CONTEXT of what is being said in the verses pointed out.

Even the CHURCH today believes this, but alas you deny the Church as well do you not?

Yes I remember you now.
I remember you very well.

OK, let's narrow it down the the King James Bible.
Should I simply read it and incorporate into my beliefs what it appears to say (incluging Jesus saying "thee" and "thou" and "like unto"), and not look any deeper than what's on the page in front of me, not invite the Author to oversee my understanding, and not consider other factors, such as the customs of the days and lands in which the texts were initially issued?

Honest questions. Teach me your ways.

Re: Christians think I'm a wolf in sheep's clothing because I'm not judgmental enough
(Mark 9:43-44) And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7254491

The fire is not quenched because it is a result of a lack. Not having the presence of God in your life.

It does not say, however, that they remain in said fire.

1 Corinthians 3:15 "If it is burned up, he suffers loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames".

Worm refers to their body. Because they cannot die. Eternal life.

(Matthew 25:46) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7254491

This is where I come in. I came from hell, and I know that you are incorrect.

The original greek is:
"καὶ ἀπελεύσονται οὗτοι εἰς κόλασιν αἰώνιον, οἱ δὲ δίκαιοι εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον."

This word:
" αἰώνιον"

Is mistranslated as 'eternal'.

If I type in the english word 'eon', and use google translate to turn it into greek:
[link to translate.google.com]

You get:
"αιών"
Which is similar to:
" αἰώνιον"
So the first four letters spell 'eon'.

An age. Of unknown length not 'eternal'.

Your translation is erroneous, and such an erroneous translation has hurt a great deal many souls as a result.

Besides, it says:
Matthew 5:26 "I tell you the Truth, you won't get out until you have paid the last penny"

Which clearly shows there is a condition for escape and ergo cannot be eternal.

The inconsistency of translation is more apparent here:
Luke 18:30
"ὃς οὐχὶ μὴ [ἀπο]λάβῃ πολλαπλασί&#959;να ἐν τῷ καιρῷ τούτῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ αἰῶνι τῷ ἐρχομένῳ ζωὴν αἰώνιον. "

"αἰῶνι"
Translates as:
"century" (or eon)

But:
"αἰώνιον"
(Which is an extension by 2 letters)
Becomes eternal.

It's incredibly odd to base 'eternal' on two juxaposed letters that don't make sense in context, don't have any value denoting their actual length (century is a misnomer as 'cent' originates from latin for '100', which is where 'centurion' (commander of 100) comes from - this wouldn't have been the original greek interpretation).

(John 8:44) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Re: Christians think I'm a wolf in sheep's clothing because I'm not judgmental enough
Hello OP,

It is an interesting thread title.

It supposes that one man might consider another man to be a wolf in sheeps clothing because he is not judgemental.

I would ask; What is judgement?

I would ask; What is a wolf in sheeps clothing?

How would one define a wolf in sheeps clothing?

We know scripture says we are not to judge others. Scripture also tells us not to put stumblingblocks in front of another man. Scripture also tells us we are to be discerning. To be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves. Scripture also tells us to give a warning, to call men to repentence. To turn from sin and follow Jesus.

It would seem that all men place a line (somewhere) between discernment and judgement?

Where is the line between giving a 'warning' (in love) and being 'judgmental'?

If you saw your neighbor doing something which is contrary to the instruction given by The LORD, contrary to his well-being; what do you do?

One man might avoid it, another might confront it. Which one would be loving? Which one would likely come across as judgemental?

Another poster mentioned something to the effect that there is a fine line between a timely word(s) of wisdom and prudence and a harsh word spoken with fire which burns the adversary. I tend to agree with his/her assessment.

Jesus often had some harsh words for certain folks. He also often had soft words. I imagine both perfectly performed their purpose(s). I am confident God will use both to fulfill his perfect will.

But which is more expedient for us to speak? In the end, I think everything has a season. In the end, if a man is lead by The Spirit, he will fulfill the plan and purpose of The Spirit. Both for his life and the lives of others.

peace,

God created the Lake of Fire originally for the fallen angels who rebelled against Him.

This is written in the Bible and the reference is this:

Matthew 25:41-43

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’"

The Lake of Fire resides in the realm of the ETERNAL, in ETERNITY, where God dwells and fills.

Angels are beings of this eternal realm, not our realm which is physical.

Therefore angels do not "die" like we do. In fact they don't die at all.

When we die physically, when our bodies die, we think of this as an ending.

When the fallen angels die, it is more like falling under God's punishment and being put in jail and that jail is this Lake of Fire that burns forever.

it is a place of separation from God's grace and mercy and forgiveness, because those who go to this Lake of Fire or jail CHOSE to rebel against all that God IS and rejected God entirely.

God also has given these angels and human beings FREE WILL.
How does God allow FREE WILL in Eternity and yet still punish those who rebel against Him, by doing what is evil?

For remember that God is the very author of ALL THAT IS GOOD and RIGHTEOUS. HE DEFINES what it means to be Good and what it means to be RIGHTEOUS and what is EVIL.

HE IS THE MAKER AND THE CREATOR!

So how does God allow Free Will in eternity and yet keep His Holy commandments in tact, specifically the requirements of JUSTICE?

For the price of SIN (rebellion against God [which basically means rebellion against everything that is good and right]) = DEATH.

So He created this place called the LAKE OF FIRE. It is a place where the FREE WILL of His creations can still be retained and exercised by them and meet the requirements of JUSTICE in an ETERNAL REALM.

By their choice the fallen angels rebelled.
So they God respects this choice, even if it grieves Him that these whom He created chose to do this.

And JUSTICE is satisfied because the LAKE OF FIRE is also punishment or "eternal death" for committing SIN, which price is DEATH.

=================================

Human beings are physical and spiritual beings.
Because we have SIN, the price of SIN = DEATH and so we who are born in the flesh, die in the flesh but our Spirit is forever.

But when we sinned also, our Spirit also died forever, for where our bodies go, so goes our spirit.

We are tied to our bodies.

And though it was not God's intent to have Man go to this Lake of Fire, since it serves the purpose of where ALL SIN GOES, so those who are found with SIN, any creation, goes to this place: fallen angels and sinful man.

=================================

Here is the Good news.
Jesus Christ is God in the Flesh.

He came and lived among us and had no sin.
And having no sin, HE would have lived forever for Death would have never claimed Him!

But because He came to do His Father's WILL, His WILL, He came to die for us on the cross.

Remember SIN is what drove the CREATOR to the cross!
It is not because OF SIN that Jesus Christ died on that cross and hung there, for HE HAD NO SIN!

It is because the SINFULNESS IN MAN, drove Man, His Creation, to kill HIM, the CREATOR!

He allowed this to happen, the murder of Himself by SIN!
SIN MURDERED HIM!

But when Death came and claimed His body and His Spirit to Hell, Death could not KEEP HIM THERE, because Death had no authority over a man who had no SIN and the POWER OF JESUS CHRIST WHO IS GOD IN THE FLESH, RAISED HIM FROM THIS BACK TO LIFE!

Only God can Raise the dead!
Jesus Christ IS God!

THIS is why our only Hope is Jesus Christ.
Because ONLY JESUS CHRIST was raised from the dead back to Life and is with the Father in heaven, seated on the Father's right hand throne!

Because Jesus is THERE and HE CAN RAISE THE DEAD, we who die in believing in Him, though we still die to the SIN that is in us, are thereafter FORGIVEN BY JESUS CHRIST who has the AUTHORITY to RAISE US FROM THE DEAD and HE WILL DO SO when He returns!

For then our bodies will become IMMORTAL!
Our NEW HOME will be wherever HE IS IN ETERNITY!

This is why we BELIEVE in Jesus Christ AND EVERYTHING HE SAID AND DID.

Because HE IS our ONLY Hope.

Blessed are those of you who take this to heart and BELIEVE!

In Jesus Christ.

By the way I am not a teacher.
I am but a servant of the Lord who only learns what the Holy Spirit has revealed.

ALL people who believe in Jesus Christ has the Spirit in them that reveals the mysteries of God to them.

In this we are all one.

In Jesus Christ.

OK, whoa. Before we go any further with this, the quote here says not one thing like "you believed the wrong doctrines" or "your faith was misplaced" or any such tangent. It's *entirely* about how they cared for "the least of these".

For they trample the pearls under their feet.

Your original objection,
Was that you did not believe in Hell
Or the Lake of Fire.

I have answered as you have requested.
It is for you to do as you will
With what has been revealed to you.

I pray that you will believe
And follow in our Lord,
Jesus Christ.

From what I can see in christian preaching and being called a demon if you dont believ in hell..john 316 shiuld be written thus...

for god so hated the world that he created hell..so that whosoever does nkt believe in hell shall have eternal life there.

for he came into the world to condemn and burn the world and save onky a few chosen.

thats exactly what christians preach and teach.
