Is the person smoking pot to escape from their sober reality? Is it being used as a coping mechanism? If so, then it may become harmful or detrimental to that individual. Or is the person well grounded and smoking marijuana to enhance relaxation and spur creative thinking? If so, this individual is unlikely to experience any debilitating effects from the practice.... Do sad & depressed individuals consume alcohol? Yes... Do people who are otherwise happy with their lives drink alcohol while they are out enjoying themselves? Yes....
