The influence could be possible. At only 27 million light years away. I think GRB's can effect earth at less than 30 million light years away. Just imagine how much magnetized energy is coming at us from this galaxy.

Use that Island immediately east of Mykonos as your center point.

Then zoom out and see how one of the arms goes right through Italy. It looks better on Google Earth, especially with the earthquake footprint activated.

Doesn't have the whirlpool look.

I discovered this Whirlpool shape while researching the quakes in Northern Italy and Bulgaria. I noticed the same Frozen Swirl pattern as the frozen Swirl patterns found on Mars recently. If you notice the quakes in this vicinity are also in a sort of swirl pattern. Also notice how the pieces of land mass appear to be torn and drawn towards the center of this vortex. The Island of Ktapodia Nisida lays right in the center of this vortex.

Is this already known? What it is called? What could it possibly mean?

Could be a connection, not sure. One of Whirlpool Galaxy M51's arm appears to be swallowing NGC 5195, well that is the same arm that appears to run straight through Italy. There could be a connection.

you've noticed in life that it has a natural universal structure that forms as the spiral. its in everything, ever seen the video of a colony of ants walking around forming a huge spiral? so why not be it the movement of earthquakes? particularly in this area.
could have ancient cultures (both real and hypothetical)have known this. perhaps, they even built structures that correlated with the stars and galaxies. maybe because they understood the energies they provide? reminds me of the pyramids and the orion constellation. i have so much more input on this.

either this is new news to us, or its something that occurs naturally without the need of human knowledge - but once we realize, we are amazed! depends on how you think about it.

Tell me about it. When I noticed it and started drawing the path's it gave me goose bumps. To see a whirlpool shape on the planet, which also appears to be acting like a black hole, was something I was not expecting. Then when I noticed that all the quakes for that region line up perfectly with the arms of the whirlpool. Then to notice the Fibonacci number on it. It connects a lot of dot's for me.

Also notice how Google Earth has inserted an Image of the Whirlpool Galaxy on the map of that region. Then notice the dark area above to the right. Lines up and clearly shows NGC 5195, the star being sucked up by this Galaxy. Depicted on the Map as a dark mountainous area. You could overlay these two images and get a precise match.

In case you are not aware. The earth rotates.
Therefore any alignment would be temporary.

Ok so it might debunk the alignment theory, still doesn't change the fact that the fault is shaped like a whirlpool. So why the shape then? What is influencing earth changes, in that region, in this whirlpool shape?

The antipode near Christchurch has been very geologically active as well, have you drawn any quake vertises on that side?

The whole Pacific ring of fire can be seen as an arm from this anti location.

Your ideas are as good as anyone's as to the shape of the fault.
