New Time Poll Will Provide WORSE News For George Bush

Political Wire has a tidbit on an upcoming Time poll that contains a political sucker punch for President George Bush — one of the worst pieces of news polling will have brought him yet:
Political Wire received an early copy of a new Time magazine poll that finds President Bush´s approval rating at 41% with 53% disapproving. This is down a point from the last poll two months ago.

Major drags on the President’s standing include: Iraq and high energy prices (each 45%),the federal budget deficit (39% say “very negative” impact), his handling of the economy (35%), and the failure of his social security initiative (32%).

Stunning: Of those who disapprove, 76% say they´re unlikely to change their minds about the president´s performance in the future.
It also notes that the poll shows that if the election was held today John Kerry would win — by one point. Democrats need to admit it: John Kerry was NOT a good candidate. Period.

Meanwhile, if polling shows people are unlikely to change their minds it indicates they´ve tuned out. And WHY would they have tuned out? We bet that when the history of this administration is written historians will focus on its enormous credibility problems — lumping it in the same catetory as the administrations of Democrat Lyndon Johnson and Republican Richard Nixon. This means getting out a message is going to be even tougher for Bush as he completes his final term.
