When I used to wait tables we would make so much fun of the big people that got like 8 refills of diet coke. I would think to myself "dude I brought you that water you didn't ask for, for a reason" Fuck Yea! |

As for this law, I think NYers will recall him before they allow him to get away with this. |

From the NY Times article: "Mr. Bloomberg’s proposal requires the approval of the Board of Health, a step that is considered likely because the members are all appointed by him, and the board’s chairman is the city’s health commissioner, who joined the mayor in supporting the measure on Wednesday. " I think there is gonna be a huge uproar about this if it goes into effect. Folks here really don't pay attention to the news much - until it affects them. And they will notice this. |

Big name drink corporations(people) have a say so sooner or later, especially when bad decisions affect their bottom lines. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 15827957 ![]() 05/31/2012 01:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | LMAO all the fatties getting mad because they will no longer be able to buy a 2 liter bottle of High Fructose corn syrup mixed with water and chemicals. The world is going to end. NOT. I think a tax on soft drinks would have made more sense than a ban of certain sizes simply because it's a dual edged sword. You prevent people from being able to afford their daily 20oz soda and instead they drink one once a week. They are consuming 1800 fewer calories a week. 3000 Calories= 1 pound of fat. Obesity is a killer that threatens the US economy. Remember this country was never about your freedoms people it was about the economic prosperity of our owners. Now they made you believe you were free because it made you more profitable but that doesn't mean you really were free. If this passes it will be because our owners think it will make us more profitable for them. End of Story. |

Radnarg that's extreme. But the worst stuff, I agree should be banned. Like aspartame. Not letting them serve giant jugs of sugarwater and call it a single serving is not a ban on sugareater, its a ban on harmful advertising. I'. Sure everyone can still buy their 2L party size bottles at the grocery store, which is how it should be. |
