(Reagan) sold record amounts of 30 year US treasury bonds which are coming due now and will continue for the next six years. That's the only thing that matters from the 80's, as a result of those actions, the govt now has to "print" money to pay back the principle on those bonds. Technically, the economic crisis we are in today has it's roots from that monetary policy in the 80's! |
