If an atheist is a good man, but has 'no moral code' why is he being a good man? What is the incentive, maybe he just likes being good. If a religious man is a good man, only because he is fearful of gods wrath, who is the better man? Surely the man who does good because its the right thing to do, rather than the man who does good for fear or punishment is the better man? |

He loved the Jesuit Order so much that he modeled the SS after the Order. Himmler was a Jesuit himself. Think about this OP, if humans were so purely evil and only had the capacity for great evil im sure we would have wiped ourselves out thousands of years ago..we are not perfect by any means but the fact we still exist without killing ourselves suggest some good exists in us as a species... we have altruistic traits otherwise we wouldn't be here. |

So, if someone kills millions and doesn't feel bad about it, they must have some sort of psychological disease. They would have to be a deviant to the norm because "normal" people know the difference between right and wrong. That being said, all the atheist can say is that it's very unfortunate that these evils happen, but its due to environment and psychological health and that in the end, there is no reason behind it, it just is. I'm not christian but I do believe in a higher consciousness. I'm inclined to think that, from a higher perspective, we put ourselves through evils in order to experience them and overcome them. Sometimes playing the victim, other times the aggressor. |
