I personally started not eating meat in my early teens..had been thinking about how barbaric it seemed to me..and primitive..just couldnt take the step then life helped me with it was staying at a friends house and she prepared a meal for me..meat..it tasted odd..she knew that I wasnt very keen on meat eating..anyway guess it was her practical joke..en of story..she confessed it was horse meat..I was so shocked...that was the last time I ate meat |

And the other in her mid twenties. Their skin shines and they are right weight. We are brainwashed to percieve animal as food. And having the teeth we do is no evidence that we need to eat meat. I at times can feel the energy of the meat im eating - its life. Im also able to do this with fruit and vege. I eat two portions of meat per week and selective decide what my body needs. Most other days i eat salads, vege and plenty of bread. However, id say microbiotic food may start introducing you to the idea that you can get plenty of nutrients from foods beside meat. |

Quoting: exiled1 i heard it's okay to eat fish 'cause they don't have any feelings. i heard Jesus was a fan as well I think fish have feelings too They are intelligent and think therefore quite likely have feelings I think..at least my personal view is..applying this to myself..that the higher spiritually you go the need to eat flesh disappears..just a supposition..no offence meant to those that eat meat.. I say this because I feel like eating fish now and again..and I translate this as not being fully developed spiritually yet..or I wouldnt have this need..at least in my opinion |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 17755670 Spain 06/11/2012 05:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Start with foods you already enjoy that are vegetarian, and just leave out the meat. Like corn on the cob, or macaroni and cheese, pizza, french fries, fresh warm bread rolls, cheesecake, etc. It doesn't have to be healthy or vegan. Just take one step at a time. I started out like this and lost 20 lbs. just giving up meat and still eating vegetarian junkfood. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12548952 I dont think its advisable all those carbs.. To change I would advice expert dietary input..on how to maintain a healthy balanced diet thats what has happened to many..I think..the art of cooking..not much time..all busy..so most have forgotten how our grandparents ate and lived etc.. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 3198332 United Kingdom 06/11/2012 05:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am nowhere near a slaughterhouse, so I still wouldn't be able to see it. I don't think it would mean much anyway, meat tastes far too good and would override any kind of guilt etc. Having said that, I love vegetarian dishes too. My favourite recipe is to take mixed mediterranian veggies, you can buy these frozen or make them yourself, obviously fresh is better. Add some onion, potato, swetecorn, mushroom, whatever you like to this. Make sure it's all cubed quite small. Then you put all your veggies in a baking tray, baste them with a mix of olive oil and garlic paste. Add salt and pepper and however much chilli powder you can handle over the top and cook it til it looks done. This stuff is fantastic however you want to eat it. Some like to stuff this into a pita bread or sandwich, and add some grated cheese to it. I just prefer ketchup but that's because I'm a barbarian, and it makes it seem more like a burger. Going all veggie isn't hard. Done it a few times when I'm detoxing. You get used to a new diet very quick if you choose good tasty food to switch with. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1337166 United States 06/11/2012 05:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | trying to tell someone about not eating animals is like telling someone in the fast lane to slow down...when they're in it they don't think...it's about going a to b as fast and easy as possible and anyone that gets in the way is just, well, in their way. Once the mind is forced to slow down and if the brain is healthy and rational it becomes obvious that eating animals is not only unhealthy but ethically wrong...you can quote this with rebuttal but the fact remains that their are plenty of healthy alternatives to eating meat. It's not high society talk, it's just real talk...you do not need meat...simple and plain. To get slaughtered is painful I'd imagine. That's food for thought. |
Who. User ID: 17407814 Spain 06/11/2012 05:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | At the moment I'm just a vegetarian, not a vegan. I don't know if I will become a vegan someday, because I also enjoy dairy products. Well, it's not that difficult, in my opinion. Once you realize that meat is not necessary in your diet, you think in a different way. I said that because we grow up assuming that meat is necessary. Sure, it's nutritionally good if you know how to eat it, but it's not mandatory to include it in your diet! :-D I enjoy eating lots of vegetables and fruit, and legumes are my favourite dish! Weirdness isn't weird, here. So... no need to go "O_o"... but I can't help going O_o the most of the time! To O_o or not to O_o? |
