About not eating meat...vegetarians and vegans welcome with input for meat eaters..thank you
there seems to be an interest in learning how to go about not eating meat and wether it is easy to do or not..
I have been asked about it ..so I thought Id start a thread for any vegan or vegetarian to contribute with advice

Seems many would like to take the step but just dont know how to go about it

Your advice and comments appreciated if it can help anyone take the move towards a non meat based diet

Much thanks
hugs

I respect all personal choices..

I personally started not eating meat in my early teens..had been thinking about how barbaric it seemed to me..and primitive..just couldnt take the step

then life helped me with it

was staying at a friends house and she prepared a meal for me..meat..it tasted odd..she knew that I wasnt very keen on meat eating..anyway guess it was her practical joke..en of story..she confessed it was horse meat..I was so shocked...that was the last time I ate meat

This cycle has to end

the suffering has to stop

I think we have all had enough

Most people are worried about saving their souls ..which is great..but I think the other concern should be on how to bring the paradise on earth..how to end this sad and tragic cycle..

Animals pretty much exist for us to eat.
In fact you can't even live with consuming animal products.

There is a reason was meat tastes good and vegetables taste like dirt.

then why did God make them so beautiful?
why did He make them so that they recognize love and affection..and respond to it?

to say something tastes good surely shouldnt justify eating it..or how would you feel if someone said human meat tastes good? does that ..would that justify eating it? surely not

vegetables are delicious..

you should try one of my salads

Start with foods you already enjoy that are vegetarian, and just leave out the meat. Like corn on the cob, or macaroni and cheese, pizza, french fries, fresh warm bread rolls, cheesecake, etc. It doesn't have to be healthy or vegan. Just take one step at a time. I started out like this and lost 20 lbs. just giving up meat and still eating vegetarian junkfood.

Well, i know two super fit and healthy vegetarians one started when he was 7yrs. And the other in her mid twenties. Their skin shines and they are right weight. We are brainwashed to percieve animal as food. And having the teeth we do is no evidence that we need to eat meat. I at times can feel the energy of the meat im eating - its life. Im also able to do this with fruit and vege. I eat two portions of meat per week and selective decide what my body needs. Most other days i eat salads, vege and plenty of bread. However, id say microbiotic food may start introducing you to the idea that you can get plenty of nutrients from foods beside meat.

I think fish have feelings too
They are intelligent and think therefore quite likely have feelings
I think..at least my personal view is..applying this to myself..that the higher spiritually you go the need to eat flesh disappears..just a supposition..no offence meant to those that eat meat..
I say this because I feel like eating fish now and again..and I translate this as not being fully developed spiritually yet..or I wouldnt have this need..at least in my opinion

I am nowhere near a slaughterhouse, so I still wouldn't be able to see it. I don't think it would mean much anyway, meat tastes far too good and would override any kind of guilt etc.

Having said that, I love vegetarian dishes too. My favourite recipe is to take mixed mediterranian veggies, you can buy these frozen or make them yourself, obviously fresh is better.

Add some onion, potato, swetecorn, mushroom, whatever you like to this. Make sure it's all cubed quite small.

Then you put all your veggies in a baking tray, baste them with a mix of olive oil and garlic paste. Add salt and pepper and however much chilli powder you can handle over the top and cook it til it looks done.

This stuff is fantastic however you want to eat it. Some like to stuff this into a pita bread or sandwich, and add some grated cheese to it. I just prefer ketchup but that's because I'm a barbarian, and it makes it seem more like a burger.

Going all veggie isn't hard. Done it a few times when I'm detoxing. You get used to a new diet very quick if you choose good tasty food to switch with.

Ive said it here before :)

I absolutely believe plants have feelings and so much more

I believe they can actually pick up on our thoughts

they can communicate among themselves
they use a form of radar when growing etc..or crawling

thats my idea anyway

you can eat veggies without killing them in most if not all cases..when you grow your own

trying to tell someone about not eating animals is like telling someone in the fast lane to slow down...when they're in it they don't think...it's about going a to b as fast and easy as possible and anyone that gets in the way is just, well, in their way.

Once the mind is forced to slow down and if the brain is healthy and rational it becomes obvious that eating animals is not only unhealthy but ethically wrong...you can quote this with rebuttal but the fact remains that their are plenty of healthy alternatives to eating meat.

It's not high society talk, it's just real talk...you do not need meat...simple and plain. To get slaughtered is painful I'd imagine. That's food for thought.

At the moment I'm just a vegetarian, not a vegan. I don't know if I will become a vegan someday, because I also enjoy dairy products.

Well, it's not that difficult, in my opinion.

Once you realize that meat is not necessary in your diet, you think in a different way. I said that because we grow up assuming that meat is necessary. Sure, it's nutritionally good if you know how to eat it, but it's not mandatory to include it in your diet! :-D

I enjoy eating lots of vegetables and fruit, and legumes are my favourite dish!
Weirdness isn't weird, here.
So... no need to go "O_o"... but I can't help going O_o the most of the time!
To O_o or not to O_o?
