Is legalizing weed Obama's October surprise?
In 2004 George W. Bush re-election campaign worked to put anti-gay marriage ballot initiatives up for vote in several swing states in order to turn out more hard-core conservatives to the polls. This year the question is whether marijuana legalization measures will turn out young voters for Obama.

17 states, mostly liberal and Washington DC have some form of legal marijuana. 7 states have pending legislation, again mostly liberal.

The current administration has been highly criticized for supporting Federal efforts to continue the illegality of pot, and not respecting STATES RIGHTS to pass those laws.

You make the call but I believe this is a viable October Surprise.
