User ID: 7592463  United States06/14/2012 07:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know there are a lot of Cat Lovers as well as Animal Communicators, here on GLP>>> Here's the story: Last Thurs June 7th,in the wee hours, My little 8 month old grey Tiger striped baby named "Buddy" got chased from my yard by a vicious dog and ran for his life into the Woods that border my yard, and is now high up in a Tree where I can't even see him because of all the dense foliage. The poor thing has been up there for a WEEK already but I didn't discover his whereabouts until just yesterday because I was looking in ALL directions, then an email friend who has some psychic ability told me what side of the yard to look in, and that's the area I heard faint meows in, but I still don't know EXACTLY which Tree he is in because the Woods are very thick there and it's impossible to see through all the LEAVES !! An athletic friend came over today and he is willing to climb up and get little Buddy down, but we can't SEE where he is and now he stopped meowing !!! I also spoke with an Animal communicator who does prayer work and she told me she made contact with Bud and he was alright, not injured badly or anything, just mostly shook up from the shock of barely escaping something that wanted to tear into him.... She told me to send positive reinforcement to him and tell him he can do it, he can make it back down and make it home, she also said to send the thought image of visualizing him climbing down and making it back home ... The Woods that he is in are right at the back of the property, it takes me one minute to walk to where he is, physically he is not far at all... It's the fear and the emotional trauma that he must overcome... so Please GLP ANIMAL COMMUNICATORS/ANIMAL and CAT LOVERS< Join me in sending Buddy positive encouragement that he can make it back down out of that Tree and make it home to us ! I know sometimes when Cats panic they forget how to climb down.. I've seen my other cats do it, they have a way of twisting their body and backing up, and climb down the Tree hind legs first, I KNOW he can do it ..>!!! He must be so hungry, he's been up there a week ! Please, let's get Buddy home TONIGHT !!! Thank you for caring   :kittyL |

When my cats were young I was always having to get the ladder to pull them out of trees and off the roof. Did you try rattling a bowl of kibble near where you think he is? If you can't climb up to get him definitely call the fire department. |

Some fire depts. will not send a team, but others, especially in less poplulated areas, might well respond to give their guys practice with the ladder. My cat got up a tree recently. She's over a year old. I made repeated attempts to get to her with makeshift ladders and reaching up to her with long tree limbs. I went to get a longer limb and by the time I got back, she was gone. She managed to climb down herself. This may happen with your cat, too. If no luck with the fire dept., call the electric utility, see if one of their guys would volunteer to help. Or a tree service company. People love to help. Give them a chance to. |

He was on top of a high voltage power pole, so we couldn't call the fire dept. After 2 days my husband called PG&E who owns the pole. They told us they do not do that. MY husband responded by telling them that he would climb it then... but first he was calling the local TV station's to film him getting electrocuted. (hey it was worth a shot) This was on a Sunday as well. PG&E showed up with 15 mins, with a bucket truck, and a stick rope thing and got him down! |

This sort of thing happened sometimes with kittens. There are lots of things you can try. Try making this sound to call the kitten. Usually young kittens will respond, and any similar sound will usually work: Try putting really strong smelling meat, cat food, or tuna as near to the kitten as you can get it. If they are hungry enough they will eventually come down. You might be able to borrow a rabbit trap from a friend, or a local animal rescue place, put the food inside, and put it as near the kitten as you can get. This has worked well in capturing wilder cats to take them to the vet. One time I geared up in two sweaters, grabbed some bush cutters, and cut my way into a massive bush to rescue abandoned kittens. I ended up slightly scraped up for it, but it was worth it. Try not to make a lot of noises besides fake cat noises, and try not to be too loud. It will be able to hear you just fine, and kittens scare easily at human voices when they are traumatized. I'll post more if I think of anything. I wish you the best of luck!  |
