No phones No Cell No internet No tv? I was thinking of maybe a token ring / relay done with CB radios or HAM radios? The infrstructure with HAM is already there. How do we make it work with CB? CB is only good for something like 30 miles, right? Too bad walkie talkies have such short range. 5*s OP for reading my mind :-) Here is why I was even wondering about in the first place: Thread: Remote Viewing - June 1st, 2013 |

Afterlife Explorer User ID: 12179886 United Kingdom 06/21/2012 01:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Really suprised there are not more "Hams" here on GLP... It isn't just voice, data can be sent too, with a station fully operational on the ISS (International Space Station) if the SHTF Hams will still be able to communicate, regardless of the situation. Suspots and CME's are the Ham's best friend, make comms on HF superb. HAM RADIO = NO DOOM. |

Ham Radio modem is called a TNC (Terminal Node Controller) They are dirt cheap on ebay and can send data at 9K6, 9600bps. There is a HUGE amount of dedicated software available, you can even send hi-rez pictures and as a file video over data. The same is for CB, just illegal to do so in the UK. |
