Muslim Brotherhood president wants to restore ties with Iran " balance" Middle East
Egypt's president-elect tells Iran's Fars news agency he's looking to expand ties with Tehran to create strategic 'balance' in region

Morsi: "We must restore normal relations with Iran based on shared interests, and expand areas of political coordination and economic cooperation because this will create a balance of pressure in the region," Morsi was quoted as saying in a transcript of the interview.

Tehran : Iran subsequently hailed Morsi's victory over former general Ahmed Shafiq in Egypt's first free presidential election as a "splendid vision of democracy" that marked the country's final phase of an "Islamic Awakening".

Really, you have to keep spamming this zionist memri crap?

It's not Mursi who said it, did you hear what he said yesterday and what your govt said? Stop spreading fear propaganda please....it's getting annoying all the negativity, give that man a chance for heaven's sake he hasn't even been sworn in yet and he's already planning a war? And disregard religious dribble coming from people, ALL religions that is...it's not to take literal. I hope Egypt will be a bigger part in efforts to restore peace. Lets talk Peace and not always about War. I'm sure there's a solution.

This video has been debunked - not Mursi talking, and the cleric's words are taken out of context. Nobody will "conquer" Jerusalem...

Re: Muslim Brotherhood president wants to restore ties with Iran " balance" Middle East
There is growing concern in Israel about the victory of Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohamed Mursi in Egypt's presidential election.

But Israeli media have warned of a new reality in relations with its biggest neighbour.

The West : Western diplomats say in reality Egypt has little real appetite to significantly change relations with Iran, given the substantial issues the new president already has to face in cementing relations with regional and global powers.

Again, not to be taken literally, nobody will "march" to Jerusalem. Seriously. What it means? Read Camp David. There has to be a peace plan and solution to the ongoing Gaza issue, that's it. You should not be scared if you want peace. Instead of concentrating on War, we should concentrate on how to restore peace, a solution that works for both sides. That's all I'm going to say. Otherwise we can go back and forth on what clerics and Rabbi's say. Religion needs to stay out of it.

if someone won in israel, you know you'd be watching real footage of their campaign meetings outside the media spotlight.

you have someone at his campaign meeting celebrating the arrival of the islamic caliphate with its capital in jerusalem, through his presidency. little doubt here.

besides, he was brazen enough to give an interview to iran on his first day on the job, leaving even less doubt to what's coming:

Mursi Wants Expansion of Ties with Iran, Review to Camp David Accord

Egypt's President-elect Mohammad Mursi said he wanted to expand ties with Tehran to create a “strategic balance” in the region.

In an interview with Iran's Fars news agency published on Monday, Mursi said that better relations with Tehran “will create a balance of pressure in the region, and this is part of my program.”

Diplomatic relations between the two countries have improved after being severed more than 30 years, thanks to the popular uprising that toppled former president Hosni Mubarak last year.

Mursi said he wants to "reconsider" the peace deal with the Zionist entity. “We will reconsider the Camp David Accord but through state institutions and the government,” Mursi said.

Ties with Iran and review of Camp David - even Shafiq said he'd do that, each and every new Candidate would have done the same. It's not normal to change the politcal landscape or should they continue like Mubarak? Why have the Revolution then. Things have to change. Just because ties with Iran does not mean to start a war. You guys live in constant fear, why? I recommend reading everything from outside your news sources. The Revolutionaries are still in Tahrir, and they will watch closely.
To make a balance in Egypt and the Region is not a bad thing.

you can't "review" a peace accord. a peace accord is signed with commitments from both sides. if he wants to "review" the accord, israel can take back sinai as part of her own "review".

iran doesn't have a democracy and yet it congratulates egypt on its "democratic achievements" as part of its "islamic awakening". why would egypt want congratulations like that?

islamist egypt is the first stage in an islamist middle east that is being supported by the US for who knows what raesons. and i think we all know where they stand on israel.

this is not from israeli news sources. here we are "congratulating" egypt on its democratic process.

I think you are a bit confused. Have you read the Peace Treaty in its entirety?
I see the posturing coming from you more threatening to take back land and such. Morsi will uphold it, and the government of Egypt will not be Islamic. What's with the whole US thing always? Why are you whining all the time? One of Morsi's promises was to elect people outside of Brotherhood ranks. Christians, women and revolutionary youth make a mix and balance, not a Islamic country. And sorry, but ME is dominantly Islamic, shall we install Christian and Jewish Governments? Leave religion out of it completely...
And lets not argue about democracy

either you're worried that the brotherhood is already cracking down on net privacy, or you are being blindly wooed along with israel's government. i'll play along and won't say what was said here about morsi last week.

Before the elections, everyone knew the Muslim Brotherhood hates Israel! politicians are politicians and will say what they need to!! that whole crowd in the vid?? they want israel destroyed!! and there are leaders who feed that and feed on it!!

in any case, we may as well wait and see, it will become clear soon enough!

Response to above and this. Yes, we don't trust Brotherhood, that's why Revolutionary Groups made him promise several things. 1 he already did, resign from FJP and MB. Now we wait, that he does not choose MB ranks for the government but chooses also christians and women and youth etc.
The first law he tries to pass that would restrict anybody's freedom or whatever, he'll have a trouble on the streets, I can assure you.

Suleiman did not flee. That was a rumor started last week and already denied. He went on a visit to UAE, that's it.

Now, lets wait and see. We are 90 Million, if 1 Million wants to destroy Israel like you think, then lets see what the 89 Million will do.

I think the best indicator we have are the first round of election results, in which Muslim Brotherhood supporters and more radical Islamists received over 50% of the vote!!

Meanwhile the secular revolutionaries barely had 10%!!

thanks, cool page

imo however there's a difference between being naive-hopeful and realist-hopeful. you might be able to afford to be hopeful, and i understand egyptians want to celebrate their first democratic elections. it's pretty remarkable SCAF let morsi win. i do think the US is behind it. you have clinton on the record telling SCAF to back off.

still, those in the line of potential fire can no longer afford to be naive. some of us knew from day 1 that this was a plan to get the MB in power in egypt and then in other countries. as the region tips in their favor, and as iran gains power, the MB will be freer and freer to promote their vision out in the open and not only behind closed doors. the people will be brought along with propoganda depending on what people need to hear.

i know egypt has a lot else to worry about other than israel and the region, but it's not like morsi is not getting orders from above like all other politicians.

don't want to ruin the party, just saying, there's a greater context, and morsi win plays into it.

let's hope people take back the power from all the interests who want regional chaos.
