The healthcare law is a great example of this. This law would have been passed by either a Republican or Democratic president. The goodies and baddies would have just been reversed for the masses.

This bill lines the pocket of corporate insurers and fleeces the middle class and poor.


The problem is that some states have only corporate, for profit insurance companies. It is no coincidence states with the best health care are dominated by insurers that work like credit unions/mutual companies/co-ops.


They should have made single payer for the very poor and made it so co-op healthcare providers could do business in all states.

That way you make sure medicine is not socialized unless you are old or destitute. Also, the single payer option could be on a sliding scale so even that was only partially socialized and still handled by the private insurers.

That is how it is done in Minnesota and we have some of the best health care in the nation.

Our government only subsidizes health care for the poor, it doesn't not run healthcare.

It is non-socialist and yet compassionate for the less fortunate.

Duality makes it hard for people to see such a great option for solving health care because our way has too many shades of grey.
