Under the rights of contract, the colonies formed union beginning with the UNITED COLONIES (Notice the all caps)beginning in 1643, set precedence and later territorial expansion and admission of more colonies, and both renewed and furthered this establishment of a new Corpus under the continental congress, which precedes the BOTH the constitution of 1871 and the organic constitution of 1789 AND the articles of confederation.

The UNITED COLONIES, which changed its name to THE UNITED STATES still retains certain rights for "It'self and it's posterity". Lincoln in his 1st inaugural cited the birthdate of the union as 1774 with the articles of Association which precedes the declaration of independence by two years....and more importantly, points out correctly that this union is PERPETUAL.

IT is a PERPETUAL UNION. That means forever. That means no divorce will be granted from that marriage. To renounce it is not a right you are afforded, it's mereley an act of rebellion.
