Can a born again Christian lose their salvation??

EXACTLY

Check out Revelations 3:1-5. In that Scripture it talks about Jesus taking the option of 'blotting' someone's name out of the Book of Life if they didn't repent and change.....I'm still fuzzy on the subject myself....

Doesn't sound like anything the man generally described as jesus would say. Perhaps it's a case of Chinese Whispers?

Many think that mankind are sinners by choice, but this is not true, they are born of the seed of Adam into a sinful spiritually dead state.

The reverse is true for those born of God Seed. They have been removed from all sin by the atonement of Christ...

18 “ Come now, and let us reason together,”

The Dead Church

Macrobin As far as I can understand Jesus is telling this church that they have a name that they are alive, but are truly dead as stated in verse 1. In regards to blotting out their names I will dig into the original manuscripts and seek the Lord on this for an answer..He cannot contradict His Word.

If you turn your back on God, you can lose your salvation.

But AFTER Jesus returns, ALL will have a chance to follow God.

1 John 3:9-11
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

If you turn your back on God, you can lose your salvation.

I meant to say, can you name any people you've met who are not of God's seed? What you have done is describe what someone else supposedly said about what these poeple might "be", I'm asking for some names because if "god" is the creator, then all are of "God's seed"

Read Jesus's parables.
They are important.

The parable about the 10 lepers healed is an important parable. Jesus healed 10 lepers. Only one came back to thank him.
Substitute lepers with sinners and re-read the parable.
Jesus saved 10 sinners, and only one came back to thank him....


Jesus says that some will make it to heaven by the skin of their teeth. It is interesting that teeth actually have no skin.

If you believe that once saved always saved... then maybe you should take it one step further- we are all saved, even the unbelievers.

I John 3:9 means that if you truly have accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour,
you are 'dead to sin'.

If you willfully reject God's offer of
redemption, and do not love, then you
are of the Devil.

Can you lose your Salvation? If you have
accepted Jesus Christ and then reject him
and lead a life of sin, sure.

There have been plenty of people who have asked for forgiveness and then asked again, after a period of Sin. Woe unto him who crucifies the Christ a second time.

But if you're an 'ordinary mortal' who fails from time, to time, or who occasionally blames G-d for your troubles, then, no. It's Men who fail G-d, not the
reverse.

Yes they can; if they sin.

Sin doesn't exist.

Salvation doesn't exist.

Heaven doesn't exist.

Hell doesn't exist.

The faithful Christian may at some time lapse or fall into sin because of weakness or being misled, but he “does not carry on sin,” continuing to walk in it.

Also a born again can lose salvation. Once saved is not always saved.


Jude 5: “I desire to remind you, though you were once for all fully informed, that he who *saved* a people out of the land of Egypt, *afterward destroyed* those who did not believe.”

Matt. 24:13: “He who endures to *the end* will be saved.” (So a person’s final salvation is not determined at the moment that he begins to put faith in Jesus.)

Phil. 2:12: “As you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (This was addressed to “the saints,” or holy ones, at Philippi, as stated in Philippians 1:1. Paul urged them not to be overly confident but to realize that their final salvation was not yet assured.)

Heb. 10:26, 27: “If we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries.” (Thus the Bible does not go along with the idea that no matter what sins a person may commit after he is “saved” he will not lose his salvation. It encourages faithfulness. See also Hebrews 6:4-6 below, where it is shown that even a person anointed with holy spirit can lose his hope of salvation.)

You are born and someone places a book in your hand telling you that you were born of sin. And do not question it because it is the inspired word of,...god.

Sin is anything not in harmony with, hence contrary to, God’s personality, standards, ways, and will; anything marring one’s relationship with God. Romans 5:12 states that “through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.” (Compare 1John 1:8-10 below.)
