Short poem - "Acting, Honestly"
New one, wrote the first verse yesterday and the rest today.
I hope you enjoy it! For the meter-geeks, it's 15 syllables per line, with three 5-line verses.

Acting, Honestly

Honesty is a broken policy in a liar's game;
Even a cameo is a parody of the actor.
How long have I been a parody of my own character?
If I've always been a spoof, is the original a lie?
What is a parody of a parody in terms of truth?

The best fabulist says they are a terrible liar;
"You would know if I was lying! I'd give myself away!"
Or perhaps they would opt to tell you the liar's paradox:
"Everything I say is a lie!" the trust is all up to you.
Everyone is an actor; only a liar says different.

When you ask a question, do you get the answer you want?
or do you only get the answer that you needed to hear?
Is a character in a play honest to the audience?
I've said a number of things here, all of which could be a lie -
But I promise to you, I'm only acting, Honestly.

:sun:Ardhanarishvara | You died, and death was complete freedom from suffering - bliss. But it very quickly got lonely and repetitive in bliss, so you decided to be born once more. You've been doing this forever.

Whilst I may not agree with what you say, I will defend to the death my right to disagree with you.

Wouldn't you agree we all are acting in the game of Life?
Some say fake it till you make it?
If one can tell themselves they are good, pretty soon they will believe it.

But if one comes from a life of sadness, it would behoove him to act honestly till he understands and can stand afloat on his own.

There is alot of truth in what you say. So what would it take to wake everyone up and say its all a play. What's the best course? Well to enjoy the play and act honestly....hf
It's ok to enjoy the game of Life, but just as long as we act
honestly.....

Thanks for inspiration....smile_kiss

Yep, I would agree! In fact I've posted another poem a few times about just that:

A Game called Life

To find oneself inside a game,
A play, with which one shares one's name,
Is to have seen beyond the frame
Of stage and scene and actor's pain...

To witness bliss in loneliness,
Or split and twist and live all this...
To know the self, and yet persist
Is better than to just exist.

This is a game you cannot win,
Where every turn and every whim
are blind to truths all too immense -
With no escape from consequence!

And when the play's last scene has come,
and the game's last round has run,
the characters become undone;
Leaving one as same as none.

Re: Short poem - "Acting, Honestly"
I came up with the first line of the poem "honesty is a broken policy in a liar's game" as a kind of philosophical aphorism, but decided to turn it into a full blown poem xx

Very good, I like this one. It is true I would have to agree, bliss can be found in loneliness, but when we find it is when we have something to share and were not alone anymore, because then we realize bliss is to be shared with those who gone through the same journey, we will clearly see our audience with those who share in the same bliss.

Well by the "bliss in loneliness" line, I meant the state of moskha / nirvana, in which the world and inviduated entities cease to exist xx
