Re: The Hero's Journey
I cast my dreams over the horizon...literally. The further the better. Life follows the direction of that intent...not all at once, not perfectly (not even remotely!). But follow it does; little things in your life, little things in the world (sometimes big ones) manifest.

What ego thread would that be?

Yeah...I am looking in there now. Sounds like Gilligan is spouting a bunch of gobbledy-gook to me. I'll see if I can extract some kind of lucid line of reasoning out of that mess.

Well, I went, I saw, I spoke. Gilligan didn't have anything to say in response. I guess he thinks that you girls make more interesting 'targets'. Makes you wonder what his ulterior motive is.

Asgardhr,

I have intuitive feelings of what it is.

It appears to be a drive to *break* me...as in train me.

I will ask.

thank you for all that you have shown me over the years that we have talked. I did not want to hear it at times, but the seeds sprouted and now grow magnificantly in my garden.

Re: The Hero's Journey
what?

sophia, the problem is that i'm starting to get constrained by my human amount of energy and material needs (such as food and money).
everyday i seek for creating thousands of things, writing one-day books, singing, do art, build muscles, but most of what i can do is only 1% of all i want, i mean, before falling asleep or getting tired.

rofl

I must say when I saw the picture I thought she could be like you... cough cough, but MUCH older

Gus

I know what you mean. I truly (hand on my heart and no bullshit) have found that the bills take care of themselves... attempt to stay focused on your passion/s rather than your want-list.

I've found at times in th epast when money was VERY tight, that a contract, or other opportunity presented itself within days (no more) of a need.

My life is full of started and unfinished projects. That's cool. It's just me on the smorgasbord of life waiting til I decide to pop off.

Re: The Hero's Journey
Hero with a thousand faces

Campbell quotes the bhagavad Gita and then comments

"Endowed with a pure understanding , restraining the self with firmness, turning away from sound and other objects, and abandoning love and hatred; dwelling in solitude, eating but little, controlling the speech, body, and mind, ever engaged in meditation and concentration, and cultivating freedom from passion; forsaking conceit and power, pride and lust, wrath and possessions, tranquil in heart, and free from ego - he becomes worthy of becoming one with the imperishable"

"They have stepped away from the realm of forms, into which the incarnation descends and in which the Godhisattva remains, the realm of the manifest profile of The Great Face. Once the hidden profile has been discovered, myth is the penultimate, silence the ultimate word. The moment the spirit passes to the hidden, silence alone remains."

My comment, the book is enlightening because it provides insight on MANY different paths. The one quoted above is an example of the path I speak of. There are many paths.

I see above in this post much derision toward me posted by Freyja, Sophia, and Asgarhr. For those that speak so much of love I find the words above to more like attack. Maybe this is your example of how conflict and love can be in harmony? Oh wait, I keep reading that I am the one that's messed up... Maybe I should listen to those that advocate thrashing and love in one breath.
