The whole industry has been a debacle when you think about it, especially when it comes to the waste disposal that they keep on site at the plants. Hell, they couldn't even get Yucca mountain to open and start storing the stuff. |

I remember a building that had a foundation so shoddily built there were 2" cracks w in the exterior walls. Constantly flooded. The overall plant was in top top shape, it's just there were obvious insecurities that would cost $$$ to fix. Who owns San oniffe? Did anyone.bother to look? Does anyone know where their elx comes from? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 6414988 United States 07/16/2012 01:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A guy made a nice vid about it. Way before fuku. We live near San O. Toured the place in 1978, it was interesting. Let us face it, the plant is old, like other items of infrastructure in the US.(Bridges, so on.) Our politicos are mostly corrupt, corpse and business also, and we are looking out for number one cause we are broke. Nuk plants no exception to the profit-grab we all find ourselves engaged in. No surprise to us that the plant has challenges. Only surprise to me is that the few thinkers among us have no care. God bless our world, the leaders of business and gov are so lackadaisical and apathetic, as well as the apathy of the youth of the nation. Elders must stand and teach, or lay down and die of this destruction while our children inherit the pain. It is not about the two-party circus, it is about survival, friends. Stand and be counted. love,p |

We're going to trudge along, like we have, as always. And then one day, something terrible is going to happen and there is not a damned thing you can do about it. Get used to it, and try to make the most of whatever portion of day(s) you have. Not much else you can do. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 4284512 United States 07/16/2012 02:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | lets talk about stupid for a minute. #1 - none of these plants are power plants. they are nuclear weapons manufacturing facilities. the waste product from this procedure is heat. the heat byproduct is used to drive turbines to produce power so that the public will pay for the entire operation. #2 - thorium reactiors could have been used all along since before the war. thorium is more plentiful than uranium. thorium reactors have no possibility to go critical. thorium reactors consume their own waste. #3 - these incidents like fukushima and san onofreare actually cover for the dumping of depeted uranium on us NOW. any questions? i have one. who exactly is stupid? |
