Laws against it are too obvious. As a father, I know: my kid wants to do what I forbid him.
But if his friends make fun of him because he did "it", he'll necer do it again.
Quoting: •••Weltschmerz••• Great point. There is unfortunately no shortage of charlatanry in anything 'New Age' but with discernment and some brains you can sort through most of it. I suspect also that the 'dark ages' weren't what is claimed either. They claim there was no civilization, constant war, and no intellectual activity at the time. I suspect that the reality is that that particular age was very well lit indeed: by plenty of book-burning. I always thought it was strange when I took a Celtic studies course and we were told no writings of theirs survived - and some speculated that they didn't write at all! This was the first civilization to forge steel weapons but they didn't have a writing system?? And they passed down oral folk tales for nine centuries (the estimated time that the legends of Cu Chulainn were passed down) without bothering to lear to write?
