aNONaMITTy User ID: 9834739 United States 07/17/2012 04:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes. Relatively speaking of course. Don't worry. They are not blowing shit up. Religion under the youth is declining rapidly but those that are, have very strong convictions. LOL! So by religion, you mean church stuff? And the youth aren't particularly into religion, but have strong spiritual convictions? No. I mean that most of the youth are non-believers. But an increasing amount of that small minority that are religious have very strong convictions. Spirituality is a different and broad subject. It is such an abstract term that it is hard to give a straight answer to it. But to highlight one point, and I am not speaking for the youth in the Netherlands but me and a lot of my friends are leaning towards Buddhist philosophy. Not saying that we are Buddhists but if you want to put labels on it, that would probably be the closest you could get. Yes, that helps. So the youth have convictions, it just doesn't center around church and God. I'm guessing most of the youth in the west could be described this way too. "We are the music makers. And we are the dreamers of dreams." Willy Wonka |

You don't understand our state of the art water management. A lot of our land is designed to be able to be drowned. There are a lot of safety nets so to speak. We always have been sea people and changing our land to be compatible with as well the sea as the important river and canal routes. In fact in the 80-year war with the Spanish we drowned our land on purpose for a succesful defense. We had a flood in 1953 tho, in Zeeland after a SW floodstorm, and thousands of lives were lost. We learnt from that and we finished the Delta-Werken sea-barriers. Nowadays we claim land back of the sea, by dumping billions of tons of sand. We just completed Maasvlakte 2, another expansion for Rotterdam seaport. OMG we're good. |
