ALERT!!!:People Are Being Targeted by Pirate 'MICROSOFT Troubleshooters'!—Identity-Theft ALERT!!(Please Help)
Sheeeeesh,I can't believe this folks!!! I've been phoned no less than THREE times in the past FEW months (starting in January, followed by another call in April, and AGAIN just the other day) by people claiming to be working for Microsoft, asking me questions in regards to technical issues that,THEY say,I have been reporting to Microsoft...this is what gets me:I DON'T EVEN OWN A COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I mentioned,I recieved another phonecall from a so-called 'Microsoft Troubleshooter',only a few days ago;the funny thing was though,THIS time (and probably out of the annoyance of it all!) I assertively told the woman on the other end of the line, that: "I can't understand why I am receiving calls from Microsoft, because I don't even OWN a computer,so HOW do you know my phone number AND HOW can you tell me that you're receiving technical reports from THIS address/phonenumber???"

Interesting...Friends,as soon as I asked her the above questions, the female phone operater—claiming to be working for MICROSOFT!—immediately put the phone back down on the hook,thus,abruptly-ending the conversation!!!!! Hmmmmmmn...

LATEST INFO: I am now beginning to hear other people here on local talkshows (Lillien Mistré's 'Radio Malta' morning show, being a case in point) describing having gone through EXACTLY the same experience as mine!,and it's starting to look like there is an active,INTERNATIONAL,campaign of IDENTITY THEFT going on,with respect to all that I have written above!!!

MY PURPOSE:This then,is first of all,an ALERT to everyone on the forum,to be EXTRA-VIGILANT when receiving phonecalls concerning ANY kind of computer activity that you do;of course, when you think about it,ANYTHING pertaining to your own—or a family member's—personal identity, should NEVER be discussed on the telephone—ESPECIALLY with a stranger,REGARDLESS OF WHOSOEVER THEY WORK (OR CLAIM TO WORK) FOR!!!

HELP! — If anyone out there has any past 'data-theft' experiences of your own,or of others' you know of,then please write a few lines for us,stating what we can do to avoid becoming VICTIMS of these BASTARDS!!!!!!!

*****As ALWAYS *eyes rolling* I apologize to the elite,Godlike Geniuses on here, who get offended (due to their uber-menschen,infinite wealth of knowledge) by this kind of information-thread.This,my *LORDS* is not for you/yous.*****

Yours gratefully,

Bo Intelson.

that old scam still going putin

don't worry we were getting phone calls from em 5/6 times a week every time we say we have linux goodbye, the way they get your number is by using an auto dailer and if anyone picks up the phone they log the number as active and on a list it goes then sold.

google microsoft phone scam or microsoft virus scam, here's one from 2 yrs back

Hmmmmmmn...and there I was,thinking that I had me a big fish!

Dude, thanks for your interest and thanks for the cool link that you attached to your reply—I appreciate it.

What makes me wonder though,is that IF "active" phone numbers are worth good money to these fraudulent/other operations, then WHY don't they just get hold of phone directories from all around the world??? I mean,I know for a FACT that it would be child's play,to come over here and get hold of a phone book containing about 100,000 "active" phone numbers...so why pay somebody for them?...
peace

Editor:I have just been notified by Trinity, that suck-ass news rag—"GARDIAN"— have been threatening this site,AND US!,with copyright infringement...sheeeesh!!! Therefore, the link that the guy from the U.K attached had to be "pulled"...sorry friends.
