During a chance encounter with what appears to be an unusually strong blast of solar wind at Saturn, NASA's Cassini spacecraft detected particles being accelerated to ultra-high energies. This is similar to the acceleration that takes place around distant supernovas. "Cassini has essentially given us the capability of studying the nature of a supernova shock in situ in our own solar system, bridging the gap to distant high-energy astrophysical phenomena that are usually only studied remotely," said Adam Masters of the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Sagamihara, Japan.
Scientists are particularly interested in "quasi-parallel" shocks, where the magnetic field and the "forward"-facing direction of the shock are almost aligned, as may be found in supernova remnants. The new study, led by Masters describes the first detection of significant acceleration of electrons in a quasi-parallel shock at Saturn, coinciding with what may be the strongest shock ever encountered at the ringed planet.

While these applications remain only dreams, researchers at the University of Maryland have come up with a sci-fi seeming technology that one day could make them real. Using a time-reversal technique, the team has discovered how to transmit power, sound or images to a nonlinear object without knowing the object's exact location and without affecting objects around it. Their work, "Nonlinear Time Reversal in a Wave Chaotic System," was published in the Feb. 7 issue of the Physical Review Letters journal. "That's the magic of time reversal," says Steven Anlage, a university physics professor involved in the project. "When you reverse the waveform's direction in space and time, it follows the same path it took coming out and finds its way exactly back to the source."

Good video on the recent meteor in Russia.
Seems our Earth has a natural defense system against these large intruders causing them to break up under electrical stresses and release their destructive power before impact, which would be much more destructive.
Even the 1908 Tunguska event exploded in air leaving no crater, but this one flattened trees for 800 square km.

Re: X Marks the Spot
Blasts of the Past, Part One
22nd Feb. 2013

Shortly after dawn on 15 February 2013, a large meteor exploded over Chelyabinsk (Russia), generating a shockwave that injured some 1,200 people.

According to the popular media, no other bolide on record is known to have caused so many casualties. Have any more violent impacts occurred within human memory?

Sightings of fireballs are certainly recorded aplenty in ancient and legendary sources. For example, in 100 BCE people in the Roman Empire witnessed “a burning shield scattering sparks” (Clipeus ardens … scintillans), which “ran across the sky at sunset from west to east.” The historian of science Richard Stothers suspected this ‘shield’ belonged to the category of spectacular bolides, “which move across the sky more slowly than ordinary shooting stars, but enormously faster than genuine comets”.

When accompanied by a thunderous boom the preferred term is an ‘electrophonic bolide’. A survey of ancient and prehistoric examples of this type proves to be a resounding success. For a day in the summer of 12 BCE, Chinese annals logged this observation: “… the sky was cloudless. There was a rumbling like thunder. A meteor with a head as big as a fou, and a length of some ten-odd zhang, colour bright red and white, went south-eastward from below the Sun”. And for the year 899 CE, the Japanese chronicle Nihon Kiryaku (11th century CE) relates the fall of a meteor to earth with great noise; its designation as a hitodama exposes the popular belief that such a meteor was akin to the soul, which upon death may “visibly leave the body in the form of a round shining ball … It is reported to be blue and white with red spots, or bluish-red, with a flat, round head and a tail”.............................

Some time back, about a month, out of the blue typed that, Tunguska event... Had to go look up what it was, precognition working it appears.

It is a nice feeling to know that mother earth is aware and watching what comes her way, zapping the ones who try to disturb, also to note that she will inform us of what is heading our way, if we just have ears to see and eyes to hear.

I think I thunked, I thunk I thinked hahaha

NIN-Lil
Lord and Lady of air
More titles than names really

"After her death, she became the goddess of the air, like Enlil. She may be the Goddess of the South Wind referred to in the story of Adapa, as her husband Enlil was associated with northerly winter storms. As "Lady Air" she may be associated with the figure of the Akkadian demon "Lil-itu", thought to have been the origin of the Hebrew Lilith legend."

Solaris speaks

"It had no need of eyes, for there was nothing outside it to be seen; nor of ears, for there was nothing outside to be heard. There was no surrounding air to be breathed, nor was it in need of any organ by which to supply itself with food or to get rid of it when digested. Nothing went out from or came into it anywhere, for there was nothing. Of design it was made thus, its own waste providing its own food, acting and being acted upon entirely with and by itself, because its designer considered that a being which was sufficient unto itself would be far more excellent than one which depended upon anything." from Timaeus, (33 -The Construction of the World)

good morning

that is so clever remembering saturn is kronos , our past "sun" brown dwarf we can see it is still electrically active

Feb 28, 2011

Saturn's electrically charged atmosphere has erupted in spectacular fashion.

Saturn could be thought of as a solar system in its own right, with a family of 31 moons. It possesses a Langmuir charge sheath (plasmasphere) that isolates it from the Sun's own charge sheath that, in turn, is isolating it from the charged interstellar medium.

Many things about Saturn have changed in the 31 years since the two Voyager spacecraft passed by the giant gas planet. Saturn's magnetosphere grew by more than a million kilometers and then contracted, only to begin expanding again. The spokes in Saturn's B ring disappeared and then reappeared. The equatorial thunderstorm (known as the Dragon Storm) that raged continuously broke up, moved toward the poles, and then erupted again..............
