So, my buddies gave me plenty of notice a little over a month ago, then I was asked by my wife and kids on Wednesday, "Then you're not going to be home for Father's Day?" ah, man! I didn't know it was Father's Day this weekend! So, I asked them since I never am able to do stuff like this lately if we could celebrate it next weekend as a gift to me, lol. They were ok with it. It is always something. Story of my life, is a fine balance to have hold and keep a family happy. Hope you have a great time, don't eat the mushrooms growing by the stream... :rolleye: |

Montezuma had an awesome small clean point break. Big rocks were submerged until the water receded in front of you as you surfed the wave and the rocks would 'raise' their evil heads. Had to dodge them or it would REALLY fuck up your board. Being stoned made it much more difficult. |
aether (OP) User ID: 40929747 United Kingdom 06/14/2013 03:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | NASA doesn't allow the use of these free-flying devices any longer, so on the ISS they are always tethered. They do have a thruster pack for emergency use, but they are not allowed to 'fly' around. It seems like NASA is just trying to make it look like space is so dangerous that it takes lots of planning and rehearsals on their underwater mock-up models before they perform the actual EVA, and that may be sensible, but I think it is overdone. Quoting: observationAnyway, the EVA astronauts MUST have had a view of deep space at some point in their missions, and the stars should have been easily visible, but I can find no reports of them commenting on the stars, nor lectures or talks they have given, nor articles or books they may have written about their experiences on those EVAs, which would have to have included mention of the stars. Steve Robinson is almost laying on his back here, looking out into space. He never mentioned stars either, or not that I have found so far anyway. [link to upload.wikimedia.org] |
