Quoting: Fancypantz [link to exploringthemind.com] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16950930 I replied in a post about freewill regarding the brain scans that confirms your brain knows 7 seconds before you do what your next thought and move is. I've known this a while now, but that post reminded me. So if true.. all bets are off. All your thoughts are scripted so is your life. So what is free will? By monitoring the micro patterns of activity in the frontopolar cortex, the researchers could predict which hand the participant would choose 7 SECONDS before the participant was aware of the decision. By the time consciousness kicks in, most of the work has already been done,” said study co-author John-Dylan Haynes, a Max Planck Institute neuroscientist. I don’t even know where to begin here! I know from the hypnosis research that the unconscious pretty much controls everything and that consciousness is extremely limited. the poor guys from max planck are experiencing emotional issues with our new universe and faster than light issues generally and our non material dimensions all being of higher velocity than light but the good news is we know how and why this is and we are pleased it has become noticed by our man from planck and it is nice they are believing what our technology is showing thus they are forced to reconsider what they believed they knew to be true Good morning. I think what would have really heighten the 'results' of said test, would be a 50/50 chance of receiving a mild electric shock from either the R or L button. That way, there is a consequence to one of the choices...I think the results may change dramatically. i think you are right |

I wonder if it's a sign of things to come. The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank." The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects. The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard. The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass. |

Bullying Has Lingering Effects on Children's Mental Health Being bullied at school leaves a lasting mark on young victims' bodies and minds years after the bullying ends, a new study shows. Researchers found that bullying had its greatest influence on the health of kids who were repeatedly targeted, and it was linked with poorer mental and physical health, increased symptoms of depression and lower self-esteem. The study also revealed that victims of recent bullying fared worse than students who had been picked on by their peers further in the past. "The effects of bullying can snowball over time," said study researcher Laura Bogart, a social psychologist at Boston Children's Hospital. Children who experience continued bullying, such as in more than one grade, had more severe effects, she said. "The results are a strong argument for an immediate, early intervention of bullying," Bogart said. [link to www.livescience.com] Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |
