In the study of myth, the question of metaphors presents many a challenge.

When does a ‘sun’ literally refer to the quotidian sun and when is it a metaphor for some other bright sky light? Hard-and-fast rules are risky; every tradition is best examined in its own right.

One group of myths that seem to concern some other luminaries than the familiar sun is the cross-cultural theme of ‘sun shooting’. ‘Ta-wats awoke in great anger, and speedily determined to go and fight the sun-god. After a long journey of many adventures the hare-god came to the brink of the earth, and there watched long and patiently, till at last the sun-god coming out he shot an arrow at his face, but the fierce heat consumed the arrow ere it had finished its intended course; then another arrow was sped, but that also was consumed; and another, and still another, till only one remained in his quiver, but this was the magical arrow that had never failed its mark. Ta-wats, holding it in his hand, lifted the barb to his eye and baptized it in a divine tear; then the arrow was sped and struck the sun-god full in the face, and the sun was shivered into a thousand fragments, which fell to the earth, causing a general conflagration.’

A solar referent is also less likely in cases where multiple so-called ‘suns’ were targeted. Where two are concerned, an overlap occurs with the motif of ‘two rival suns, one of which becomes the sun, the other the moon’. Thus, the Karen (Myanmar) spoke of ‘two suns’, which once ‘came forth, but the heat was so great that neither man nor beast could endure it.’ To remedy this, a man by the name of Thye-kha ‘went up into the valley of mount Ra-ko-sho, and shot an arrow into the face of one of the suns, and it ceased to give light and became the moon, which God appointed to rule over the night.’ The other, presumably, turned into the present sun.................

today is the first time crystals have arisen within our new to us universe in the context of crystals being "fundamental" of scale to gaia`s expression of herself in visible form

I just thought that I'd mention that there is another EM hypothesis concerning crustal tides that should be considered, having to do with piezoelectricity. We know that when quartz crystals are exposed to an electric field, they deform. This electro-mechanical conversion is what drives piezo tweeters. Well, this is an interesting alternative to my simple electric force model of crustal tides. I was saying that a build-up of positive ions in the ionosphere associated with tides is hoisting the crust (<55 cm), just with an electrostatic tug, because the crust is negatively charged, and so there is an attractive force there. But there's another possibility -- perhaps it isn't so much of an electrostatic tug, but rather, that the electric field causes the deformation of quartz crystals, which pressurizes the crust into buckling upward. In other words, crustal tides might be just an over-sized piezo tweeter (or sub-sonic woofer rather).

The two ideas are not mutually exclusive, and the total 55 cm deformation might be the product of both forces.

If somebody has already thought of this, please accept my apologies for not citing the source(s), and please let me know if somebody has fleshed out this idea at all.

Tomb of Absalom literally Absalom's Shrine), also called Absalom's Pillar, is an ancient monumental rock-cut tomb with a conical roof located in the Kidron Valley in Jerusalem.

According to a local legend, Napoleon fired a mortar at the tomb, and removed the shape of a hand that topped the conical roof. However, Napoleon never reached Jerusalem during his campaign in the Holy Land. Actually, the top of the monument is not at all broken, but rather is carved to resemble a lotus flower.

A Muslim tradition connects the tomb to the Pharaohs, hence the Arabic name "Pharaoh's Hat"
